AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Are not the flames in the back by the valve going to be a bit impractical to actually make? I mean is that even going to hold up? That is alumimum after all and I can see those getting broken or bent real quick! Great looking idea but perhaps they could be done so that they are relief cut into the body and the ends of them come back and reattach giving them some strength. it looks like maybe the top one does but the bottom curl looks like its hanging out there? Maybe not...maybe thats what Syn was intending if so then cool.
Snazzy though!!!!
AGD, where we are so good we can do it with only ONE tube!
i started out with a design like that, but then realized a few downfalls that it would face. first, whereever data gets the work done will most likely be someone hand milling the design, so i wanted to make the elements of the design cross as few pieces as possible (to eliminate the possibility of lines not matching up exactly and wrecking the overall look). also, i found that to have the flames start at the breech and "blow" backward it required quite a bit of very fine detail to get an appropriate look (again, hand milling might lose some of that very precise detail due to tool size)

check out the image below, i tinted the valve neon green so you can get a better idea of what metal is left behind. there is one flame tip that is out on its own, but it is shielded on the top and bottom by much thicker pieces of the body. there is still body behind the flames on top and below the valve for support.
