This is HARSH! My bad day...

Well, I really had a bad day today.

In my last post, I worte about a tourney I had planned to play in next weekend. Well, I start the day by going down to my local proshop. I planned to meet my team there and we'd register and then go practice.

We get there, walk in, and notice that they have no paint. We start to wander about this. Then we notice that a lot of other stuff is missing too.

We talk to the owner, and he informs us that the tourney has been cancelled, due to the lack of teams. So we decide to still go play today, so we ask about filling tanks, buying paint, etc. He tells us that he's decided to move, and that he closing tha store.

So now the closest paintball shop will be about 90 miles away. I can buy paint online, but now I have no place to fill my tank, unless I get a scuba tank. But then I still won't have anyone to play with, since all our games were organized through the store.

Ouch that hurts. My brothers moved to Idaho and there is very little going on there Paintball wise. The Northwest is not the best place to be to play ball.

id have to kill myself, wouldnt know what to do without paintball. i got 6 NICE fields 1 hour or less from here and 1 more in the process of being built. one is 15 minutes away and the furthest is badlandz which is an hour away. plus i have bad boyz toys and warped sportz, basically the 2 biggest paintball stores, across the street from eachother basically competing. i live in crown point, indiana by the way. there is almost too much paintball goin on around here. wait, thats not possible.... i now realize how lucky i am. but that shouldnt stop u from playing. get a used scuba tank for around 100 to 150. then call up your friends that u usually play with and make a nice field at yours or one of your friends houses. play your hearts out and play the game u live for.

I would have to agree that the north west could improve on the paintball scene quite a bit. Living near Seattle isn't too bad but all the good fields like Operation Paintball and Paintball Paradise are pretty far south and STP is about an hour north which is pretty far to drive on a regular basis. I really feel bad for ya, not having a field within 90miles. That sucks. Just make your own field and find a scuba tank and scuba shop that will fill it.

the store IS selling of their scuba tanks and offered me one with a fill station for $190, and it can be filled right up the street for $6/fill, but I don't have the $190 to buy it.

My other problem is that I really didn't have many "Regulars" that I played with. The store would organize all the games, so now I have to go to the big fields, and they're pretty far from here.

I have 3 different good feilds that I can get to in less than 40 minutes from my house. That sucks though, I can't imagine being in that situation.

There is one alright feild about 20 miles from my house, and tons more good ones like 50 miles away... Luckily there is also the national Forest, and my friends land about 10 miles west of where I live... so basically it is Free woodsball all the time, and costly speedball every now and then.

What size are their scuba tanks? I bought a 80cf tank and the rectangular fill station adapter (with guage) for a total of $210 (before tax, and they were brand new). Make sure that you'd be getting a deal before you buy it (if you can get the money).

I have no idea what size the tank is. It's the same size as every other one I've seen. Even if I'm NOT getting a good deal, I don't know where else I could get one, so this may be my only opportunity.

Check what psi the tank is rated for too. 3500 or more would be nice so you can at least get a couple 3000psi fills.

Hey Xtreme Paintball- Where in oregon do you live? I live in oregon too but I live in the Portland-Metro Area so I can reach most paintball places in an hour or so. Also, for 150$ you can buy a scuba tank for refilling your nitro Throught www.paintball-online.com Which also is based here in oregon in Tualitin. Though i'm guessing you don't live near tualitin. Are you sure there isn't a closer place? Perhaps you can convince a bunch of people to start playing paintball. Try going to www.paintballoregon.com to see if there is any fields you may not know about.

                        Dern,
I live in The Dalles. I know there IS a little place in Corbett, but I'm not even sure if they do air fills. I think they're a hobby shop, not a Proshop, so they don't do much in paintball. I'm also a regular on Paintball Oregon, and I've checked their listings, as well as Warpig, APG, and many others, and none have any stores listed closer than the Portland-Metro area.

I just checked washington, and the closest one there is about 125 mi away. I'm still better off going the 85mi to Portland-Metro

two years ago my local field closed down. Now I have to travel to syracuse, NY if I want to play.. Im 16, no car, no part time job during school. No way to fill that 80 mile gap between me and paintball.
