what nitrogen system should i get?

i decided to take the people's advice here and go for a nitrogen system instead of the whole antisiphon co2 w/ on/off and stabilizer...since u guys said it woudl be rougly the same amount of money.

so...what kind do i get? not an expensive one. just one that will get the job done. and im not sure what size to get...

any input would be fine. thx.

Personally I love my Crossfire 68/3000 "Stubby" tank. You could probably find a nice used one here on AO. I suggest getting a tank cover for it so you don't pick up any bad nics. Good luck with your purchase. Hope you get some good suggestions.

I would say either a Pure Energy or a Crossfire...

Iam not a fan of presets, I would go adjustable. I like the SP Max-flo, or what I have the AA Raptor. The Raptor I have is just a 3000psi reg but I've had it as long as my mag and like the mag it just keeps goin, and goin and goin and.... well you get the picture. The best part about the AA systems, is the internals are the same as the mag's AIR valve. So the parts you have will service the AA regs as well. If you can wait a little longer to save up money for one of the AA adjustables, believe me, you will not regret it. Like remington said, check out the buy and sell, you will get a great deal and expand you knowledge on what's out there. Good luck

If you can afford it, get a flatline. Otherwise a preset will be fine, I have a crossfire 88/4500 on my mini, and it works just perfect

Go the extra mile and get the 4500 right from the start. I went with the 68/3000 thinking some fields may not have the capabilities to fill 4500 but man was that wrong. Check with your favorite fields if you have any doubt. The 4500 will give you the extra capacity and in some tournaments you don't always have tons of time between games and the air line can suck. Even if you plan just to play rec ball it's nice to go longer between fills. I went with a crossfire tanks and have had no problems.

            I hope I helped.

I like Pure Energy tanks. I use them on my guns and they never give me any problems. I too would recomend saving up and getting yourself a 4500psi tank. You can get a 68/4500 pure energy for about $200.

i dunno what the difference betweeen a preset and adjustable tank is....

                  what am i adjusting?

and the difference between the two numbers....66/4500....

and i'd like to spend about 150 or 200 at the most.

if i do get nitrogen, can i still hook it up to my expansion chamber then let it go into the body? it doesn't hurt right?

Adjustable means that you can change the pressure of the air coming out of the tank. This means that for some guns that are lower pressure then mags you dont have to have 850 psi running in to the reg if the reg only needs 500. Adjustable tanks are nice but they are also very expensive compared to screw in (also known as preset) tanks. I would suggest for your first nitro tank to get a screw in. WWW.paintballgear.com has a big selection of tanks and has good prices.

When people talk about 68/3000 or 68/4500 this has to do with the capacity of the tank. The first number (in this case 68) is the Cubic inches of air the tank holds. The second number which is often either 3000 or 4500 (though some have just come out with 5000) is the pressure the tank can hold. When you fill to 3000 psi you will not get as many shots as when you fill to 4500 psi. Therefore when someone says 68/3000 this refers to a 68 cubic inch tank that holds 3000 psi of air. A 88/4500 would be an 88 cubic inch tank which holds 4500 psi of air.

Like a lot of other people i would recomend that you get a 68/4500 tank (68 cubic inches, 4500 psi) because you will get a lot of shots off of this tank with your mag. Most fields (at least around here) charge an all day flat fee for air fills. This means that you can get your tank filled as many times you want that day for a certain price which is often between 5 and 10 dollars. This is different then co2 which you must pay for every time you fill.

I hope i answered your questions. At least i tried my best at this somewhat late hour. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

ok i'm looking at preset crossfire tanks. i guess i'm going to get the 4500. it says "output set for 450psi" or "output set for blahblah psi".

what do i want it preset at if it's a minimag?

                          Scribe,

Crossfire offer their tanks in two preset outputs. Blue regs are LOW pressure, generally 450 psi. These tanks are good for some of the lower pressure e-markers. Red Regs are HIGH pressure, generally about 850psi. This is a great general purpose output.

I would fully recommend you go with a Red/High output Crossfire tank. If you call Actionvillage, you should be able to get a good deal on a 68/4500/Red. PRICEMATCH if you can find it lower. A friend who recently got his got it for right at $180 before shipping and handling.

The new 72/4500's and the Phat 88/4500's are great sizes too! If you can afford a little more, I'd check those out.

I personally use a Crossfire 68/4500 Highout tank on my TKO with level 10. I'm averaging about 1000 shots per fill.

                          Hope this helps!

You'll want the high-output tank, set to about 850 psi (it can vary a few psi). This SHOULD be the red-necked tank, the blue is the lp (~450 psi). The 68 will get about 50% more shots than the 45. The 45 will get about 33% less shots than the 68.
