    Gobber paintball gun

I was just watching DBZ when this comercial came on for a paintball gun. Didn't quite catch the first part so I don't know what company makes it. It's not like what we're used to. It looks like you have to pump it up in the rear and it shoots some kind of goober instead of a traditional paintball. They also had on some real cheap and cheesy eye goggles so I cant imagine that there is a high velocity for the "goobers". I guess the paintball world has caught the eye of the mainstream toy manufacturers. Anyone else see one of these?

      Energy Paintball

If the goggles looked like swim goggles, and the guns looked like cheap water guns, it was probably energy paintball, theres already a thread on it, which I have supplied the link of below.

I just saw the same commercial too...

        You described it perfectly.

But I think that the fact that it is being advertised as a "Paintball" toy is a big problem. If someone relied on the goggles pictured to protect them from a "real" paintball, they could experience severe eye injuries.

I hope that no kid looses an eye or worse because of someone's ill-advised marketing decision.

The paintball industry as a whole should urge the manufacturer of this toy to clarify this issue by NOT calling this "splooge gun" a paintball toy and by attaching warning labels onto the goggles.

This was a dumb move by this toy company. We should take a proactive approach to this.

            re

Wow, I guess that a couple of you have seen this comercial before me. I think that calling it paintball is bad since it doesn't acuratly portray current paintabll technology, hence the porly designed goggles. In a way I think that it is very good however, in the sense that other large mainstream toy manufacturers are realizing that paintball is a legitimate game/sport and has a stake in the market place. The more we can represent paintball in a responsible light the more notoriity we may gain as a respectable sport. The part that does scare me is that someone with little knowlege may run out and mix the two. What if someone had a paintball "goober gun" and the other guy had a spyder or some other entry level gun thinking that they were the same thing. I would be horified if that person was wearing the "goober" paintball goggles and got hit in the face. These inferior goggles would surely not protect them and therfore again tarnish the image of real paintball to others that might not know as well. What do you guys think?
