Stock game in CT on 11/10.

Before anyone gets out the flamethrowers, I know this is primarily a 'Mag forum, but I figured there might be some interest anyway.

On November 10, 2002, there will be a stock game at Strategyplus. The URL is www.strategyplus.com. You will be able to get all relevant information including prices, times. Paint will be cheap, as you probably won't use more than 300 rounds. As for air, you will have to provide your own 12 grams. This may have changed since the last time I called so ask when you call for reservations.

So come on AOers, time to go into the back of the closet and dig out those old PGPs, nelspots and anything else you may have that is stock class.

If you need info, just post on the thread, or PM me, if you are feeling surrepticious.

They will have stock rigs to rent. PGPs and refurbished nel-spots.

Oh and for those who may not know, stock means that your marker must operate on 12 grams (no 6-gun quick changers for those who have them) and the balls must be fed vertically, with a maximum capacity of 20 balls in the marker at any one time. And needless to say, it must be pump action.

I am not sure if this will be pure stock, or modified stock. If it is madified, then you may use a 3.5 oz CA bottles. I will contact the organizers to find out.

Spoke to the organizers and I found out that this will be pure stock, so only 12 grams, and only vert. feeds. However, you can modify your pump guns with some PVC and a 12 gram quick change.

Come on folks. This will be fun. I promise.

Don't you mean horizontal (parralel to the barrel)? I'll have to ask Chris at Supply Depot (store affiliated with Strategy Plus) about it when I go to the store next (probably tommorow). Hope to see ya'll there (and if someone needs a loaner, I've got a PMI 1 to loan out).

Argg, you are correct. I meant horizontal (also known as rock and cock) feed. Chris will be the guy to speak to as well, as he is the one organizing this merry event.

Hey maybe if we get enough AOers, packing stock gear, we can actually have an impromptu AO, but without 'Mags.

I might just have to pick up a Phantom for this event. I should be there, as I've taken the necessary steps to get the time off from work. I don't know if my roommate will be there though.

Frankly you should pick up a phantom regardless. They are, in my opinion, the best pump gun out there. Sure Carters rock hard, but performance wise, no harder than a phantom. They look snazzier and they cost MUCH more.

Frankly, and I am slipping on my asbestos underwear as I am writing the statement, every paintballer should have a pump and should use it at least once in a while. I have heard it said, and I agree that if you learn to play with a pump, you will be unstoppable with a semi.

I'm not saying that I'm unstoppable, not by a long chalk, but occassionaly taking out my Phantom keeps me sharp. Actually, thinking about that now, I haven't done that in quit a while.

I'm actually kind of surprised that the response on this board has been so minimal. I have heard so many people wax philisophical about the "it's not the gun, but the player" philosophy, I was hoping that there would be more takers for this outing. After all, there is no better test of that principal, than playing stock. After all, the difference between a high end stock rig, like a Phantom SC, and low end stock rig, like a PMI-1/PGP/Nelspot, are much less than the difference between say, a spyder and an Angel/'Mag/'Cocker, etc.

                Oh well.

Crap, I found out today that I can't get the day off. Looks like I'll be stuck at work on the 10th.
