people are highly misinformed and have negative connotations with guns

I see a huge battle for being able to play paintball in the US coming sometime in the future

          "They're really scary"

LMFAO, if thats not the funniest thing I've ever heard then I don't know what is. These people are morons, and are the kinda people who say that they are "appauled" when a little dog humps their leg and leaves in a humph.
You smell like dookie... No really though.

NJ, NY, what's next? 10 day waiting lists for buying markers? An extensive license for the possession of paintball markers? People should be taking care of the problem: ownership of real guns, not real-looking "guns". I can see some concern about "realistic 'guns'", but really, more people die from real guns than fake ones. You can use this same thing against airsoft, which is 20x if not 50x worse than paintball guns. The worst thing I could see happening with paintball guns would be having a red or orange tipped barrel a la Airsoft.

I hate to bring politics into this since its one of the rules but....liberals have got to have the dumbest ideas not to mention being PC. I told my friend that realistic markers were going to be the end of paintball as we know it and liberals to be the end of the US as we know it.

Uhm, someoen said that the guns have to be painted black or grey. Just as a clarification, the laws in NY are being moved to CHANGE this to reflect ANY color due to the fact kids were spraypainting guns black.

ALso, to whoever mentioned NJ, how did my state get dragged into this?

Its illegal in most states to carry a "weapon" openly displayed on the streets any...so the whole "walking down the subway" quote is misleading. You cant do that with ANY firearm; paintball gun, long gun, it doesnt matter. They should be in a case anyway. Yet another twist on perceptions...she is obviously just trying to make a point...dont forget, elections are coming up next month...she is a politician...get the point?

LOL This was one of the best posts in this thread. (That and Thordic's, explaining that this is not simply a Paintball issue.)

I don't see the world of paintball in New York (or any other state) falling to ashes because of this. It makes good headlines and campaign material, but as soon as it reaches any point past rhetoric and misinformed jabbering, it will stop. Sure, you still need to keep on top of these folks, but they are really less of a problem for paintball than those people actually misusing the equipment are.

If folks are so worried about this, they should utilize their right to send that politician and news organization the facts. However, if you do this, please keep it respectful, and actually FACTUAL.

On the note of politicians.... I just LOVE election time. All the big talk, all the promises, all the hand shaking and asking what YOU think, etc. But not a week after the elections are over, things are back to normal. No changes, no more asking what we think, no more anything...... Please, if you couldn't take the time while you were in office to come to my door and introduce yourself, ask me what I think of things, and all that other stuff, DON'T do so when I am trying to wash and wax my car on a Saturday Morning, just because you want to keep your job.

Of course if you want to know about Paintball.... stop on in! We can go out back and play a few games.
