    vertical/power feed

    okay...just wondering. maybe everyone knows this but me.

    um...why is it that vertical feed is so popular now. wouldn't vertical feed have been the first idea for a feed...why did they come out with feeds from the left or right then powerfeeds before vertical feeding? it would only seem appropriate that they would think of vertical feeding since the beginning with gravity there to help them and all...

    people originally probably wanted to see down the top of the barrel, which is what standard feed was. Then came the powerfeed, courtesy of AGD's own Tom Kaye, which was made to feed faster, then vertical feed just came out... it's just how things worked out. Vertical feed is just a modern phenomenon like motorized hoppers.
