    what is short stroking

ok this will sound really dumb to some of you (well most of you) but what is short stroking. I thought it was when you pulled your trigger on a cocker only far enough to shoot but not far enough to recock. But then i heard mag owners saying they short stroke and i thought mags were blowback and i dont have a clue what anything means anymore. I have never had this problem with my tippmann and i was wondering what it meant.
Why doesnt anything work for me.

Pulling the trigger to activate the firing sequence, and pulling again before the sequence is complete. this leads to ball chopping on non-Level 10 Equipped 'Mags.

It is when you do not completly pull AND release the trigger. BTW, the Automag is a blow FORWARD. It is nothing like a blowback marker.

I believe Warpig has an article on blow-back and blow-forward. Might want to check that out, or run a search here on AO.

How is it possible? Little magic elves that work for AGD.

Um... the air blows the bolt forward and then the ball flies out.

It has to do with the shooting cycle and the order of bolt position when firing/resting.

To make it easier to understand, one rests (when not firing, between shots) with the bolt BACK (or Open Bolt), and the other rests with the bolt FORWARD (or Closed Bolt). And when you pull the trigger the firing cycle begins and ends at that position.

              (edit was to correct spelling)

Edit: Long day.. opposite. Open bolt.

Blow Forward also gives the marker a slight downward movement of the barrel when firing because of the order of bolt cycle in the firing process... while the other gives a slight rise of the barrel for the same reason.

OK! Here is for a clear explanation.
Blow Forward: The bolt is pushed forward by air, and pushed back by spring.
Blow Back: The bolt is pushed forward by spring, and pushed back by air.
Its not that hard to explain folks!
