guys, if you really care then take the time to write a letter. what do you think is more meaningfull, if the lady gets an email with the link to the online petition, or if even just 100 of the people that have signed write a hand written letter to her, or better yet, 1000 of the people.

heres an example:
"This is LUDACRIS! You incompetent morons need to look over the BILL OF RIGHTS and see that GUNS ARE ALLOWED AND ARE AMERICAN. THIS IS NOT CHINA, AND YOU MUST BE AN ADULT TO HAVE A PAINTBALL GUN. IF THIS LOOKS LIKE A REAL WEAPON TO YOUR, THEN YOU ARE PLAIN STUPID. THESE ARE NOT MACHINE GUNS.... MACHINE GUNS ARE FULLY .... THESE ARE SEMI AUTOMATIC IDIOT. SEMI AUTOMATIC IS NOT A MACHINE GUN- DONT YOU GET IT? MS DYKSTRA- YOU ARE ANALLY RETENTIVE AND NEED TO GET A LIFE *****. FREEDOM OF SPEECH, KISS MY ***."

not only do a bunch of stupid kids end up signing these (i found that example after quickly scanning one of the pages, so there are probably alot of others like it), but it is also over the internet which means that it is very ineffective because all those names might as well be fake. do you really think anyone will take the time to look at all the names, or even read what they have to say?

My fellow paintballers:

If you wish to help paintball then I agree, a letter is better than a petition. However, please think before you send out a letter, such as the one petefol posted.

The only thing you will accomplish by sending out juvenile tripe, such as said example, is to set my fellow NYC paintballer and myself back farther than we already are. Exactly what will Ms. Dykstra (the Commissioner of the Dept. of Consumer Affairs) think when she gets 1000 letters with words "idiot", "stupid" and my personal favorite "kiss my ***".

Do you think she will be moved to reconsider her policy based on 1000 letter from what seem to be immature petulent 14 year olds with too much time on their hands?

For those of you who know better, thank you and may the sounds of your pens (and keyboards) be heard resonating in the halls of the NYC Dept. of Consumer Affairs.

For those of you that are contemplating writing a letter based on the example proffered by petefol, I urge you, for the good of the sport, don't. Don't write. Hell, don't speak. You will do more harm than good.

And please, like ogre55 said, keep it civilized and to the point. There is an option to send the message anonymously. DON'T USE IT! Anonymous complaints are rarely taken seriously.
