    c02+stab or cheap nitro?

    Hey everyone,

I am planning on getting a minimag for christmas (my parents are "helping" me for christmas, so I have to pay 200$ of it) and I was wondering what you guys would reccommend for gas use. Should I buy a stabilzer and use the c02 I have or should I buy one of the cheap 80$ tanks (like the crossfire 80$)? If you could give me good reasons that would be great too,

    Thanks
    Hey

Go w/ the nitro. Period. You'll have a lot less head-aches. Trust me

sigh I was afraid of that, the problem for me is that there are so few shots with such a small nitro, but I already have 2 20 oz c02s and I was hoping I could use them with almost the same performance as the nitro,

does anyone know of the performance differences between the cheap nitro bottle or a stab+c02?

however, I've used only CO2 with a coiled remote for the last 7 years.

Don't ever bother with a stab, unless you don't run a coiled remote.

Since you don't have a retro, there is no reason why CO2 won't work fine.

Still It's a great reg and will make your gun shoot great with co2. I'd rather have a heavy awkward part on my gun that makes it shoot consistantly than one without that freezes up at the worst possible times if you know what I mean.

I ran my old minimag on an Anti-syphen CO2 and a Palmer Stabilizer.

That was one of the best setups I ever had... I ran the stabilizer on co2 then I switched to nitro... there was little to NO difference between the two.

Granted, nitro will be better in the long run, but co2 can work just as well. If you do go with nitrogen, I would just save up for at least a 68/3000, preferable a larger tank. I don't think its worth it to get one of those tiny 45/3k tanks... but thats just me.

I would also consider the cost of Co2 vs. N2 fills at your field. Do kind of a cost benefit analysis to see which would be cheaper in the long run. I agree w/ TheFlamingKoosh too, if you do go w/ N2 save up and get a 68.

You could do that, and run an anti siphon and you would get more shots out of the co2 than with hte n2.. and more fields fill co2.. but in the long run n2 is better

Co2 can be run fine without a stab. However a Stab is worth it if you have the money, the performance is outstanding!
A verticle bottle runs great in mags. Some people may not like the bottle as a for-grip and in that case go with a anti syphon tank or nitro.
If you have money to burn and its convenent to fill then N2 is a GREAT choice as it is more consistant and your gun has no chance of freezing. I personally would run CO2 on a verticle bottle while i get a level 10 kit, a nice barrel, hopper, and then go nitro if you find the co2 is not meeting your expectations or you want a little more performace.
                              Good luck.
