    need fast answers maxflow ??

im looking at buyin a used max flow off an impy, now can i run this reg at high pressure? i know the shocker max'ys arent made to put out more than 300 or so, im lookin to make her go around 900. so will the maxy off an impy work well at the pressure i want it to? will it need a new HP spring? is it safe to change out that spring for a HP spring (assuming that may need to be done)? thanks!!

I believe you can buy a HP spring, HP guage, and maaaybe you need a HP burst disk, then you should be set.

i know for a fact you can do it, but I dont know if the springs are different for new and old flo's

I thought you had to change more than just the springs. Could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's more than just a simple change.

i know for the new style max-flo tanks it is just a matter of switching springs from lp-hp/hp-lp. I am pretty sure it is the same for the regular reg's, but not possetive.

i believe it olny works from hp to lp, not the other way around, i know for lp you have to change the manifold and some springs

Teh Spring change is from High to medium pressure, what used to be called LP a few years ago.

I have the LP springs in my 'Flo, it'll reliably go down to 250-300psi. That';s with the 'HP' Reg.

Now the Impy has a different reg, the 'LP' reg, this reg is good up to 300psi tops, it's fine for a Matrix, Shocker or Impy, but you are never going to run a Mag off of it. And no, you can't just put HP spings in it, as the internals are quite different from the HP reg for the Flo (While they are the same design, the piston diameters are different.)

yeah i tried smart parts for info before, i may if i really need to, but about the only thing they are good for is causin head pain. i tried ordering parts from them 3 times and guess what, i still dident get what i needed. Eathen from Pro-paintball has a bin full of max-flow parts (some new, some used...but lossa parts) and that is where i get my parts from now...i may just ask him next time i see him, he should know (and if not, make up an amusing story to sell me something else )

                    Hey Rock:

I own one Max Flow, with another on the way. The high pressure (1100-500 p.s.i.) regs comes springs that you can change out to get it to medium pressure (600-300 p.s.i.) If you want to go lower than that you have to buy a low pressure reg.

As for their service, I have never had problems. I have called SP on several occassions and I have gotten quick consise answers. Just make sure that is you break down the tank for maintenance, use their Shocker Lube, as it's not oil based.

its on the smartparts site. i looked it up myself.

you cant change a low pressure to a high or mid pressure system. you can however take a high pressure system to a mid pressure system as hardrock said. that should answer your question.

freq: im lookin for something used only, sorry i dont buy any new gear SO PLEASE STOP TRYIN TO SELL ME STUFF UNLESS I ASK YOU

Ogre55: i also have a maxflow and yeah smart parts has never done anything good by me, yes i know basic maxflow maintaince and used only dow 55 grease on it. as i stated 3 times i tried to order and i still dident get the parts.

yeahthatsme: thankyou i should have cheaked myself i cant say anything but that i was lazy...good call

dnm5d: there are so many versions of maxflow regs out there the easiest way is to ask, the second is to cheak the output gauge (assuming its the correct gauge for the setup) and i belive 3rd you could cheak the piston size inside the reg. also Shocker maxflows have an extra blowout disk to protect the marker from over-pressurization

ok thanks everyone, my question is answered, sorry i dident just look at the site, that was my bad and i appologise...
