I've got a stupid question..

I see all these posts about determining bps and analyzing the shots for like a min or so. But my question is, do I have to shoot paint or can I just pull the trigger for about a min and analyze that sound clip? Also do I have to use a special program or can I use something like Goldwave or SoundForge?

I've checeked all the other threads about bps and honestly I still don't really understand how this is done.

i agree and disagree with shartley, for determining the max bps of an electric marker with a modded board, yeah paint is really needed.

but if your question is simply "how fast can i shoot" then i think most people would be hard pressed to overrun the cycle speed of most markers out there and testing human pulled fire rates without paint is just fine. dry fire away to your heart's content.

That is very true. If all you want to know is how fast you can pull the trigger..... dry is fine.

okay cool thanks for the response.. I'll try the dry firing method until I can get some paint. Also I'm not so sure my neighbors would be to keen on me throwing hopper after hopper of paint into the trees heh

Also, if you are using your computer microphone to record the sound, using paint in the computer room may be a bad idea
