if your feeling a little creative, you might want to try going to a sign/trophy store, sometimes they have these vinyl sheets used for vinyl lettering and such for rather cheap. (I can get it for like, a buck or two canadian for 3')
Ive often cut silhouette shapes out of the stuff and imagine you could overlap some and make some intresting 'flames' with it.
Might not be what your looking for, but thought I'd suggest it anyway.
Ive also seen the stuff used for making automotive decals, not -just- lettering. -
