AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
I played with a cocker this weekend and i decided i am goin to get one. I love the trigger on it. If anyone here has a cocker could u please give me sometips on maintenance.
DON'T TOUCH IT... If you buy a cocker and it is working fine, do not play with any of the adjustments. Just clean it (do not take it apart), oil it, and have fun. Once you know the gun, then you can start throwing on after market stuff.
BTW, you'll have to change your nick if you get a cocker
Maintaining a cocker... Simple way=New Gun
A had one, and that thing never worked. I had a guy put all the aftermarket parts on it for me. I never took it apart past the velocity adjuster and bolt. If you are gettin a cocker I would learn how it works before you start touching it.
P.S. I wouldnt use Co2.

Angelboy, you have to becarefull buying cockers online, esically ones with all the aftermarket parts. Aftermarket parted cockers isn't as reliable as a regular Autococker. And what are you talking about? Cockers run great on CO2. I'm not trying to flame you but i'm just saying.
magman, make sure you learn how the Autococker works and all the parts before you start stripping it naked. Like the Automag, make sure you put in a few drops of oil before gassing up and dry fire about 10 times with out the barrel. One last thing, make sure you cock the gun before you gas up.
my friend had a cocker until very recently(sold it when he got an intimidator) and i have to say that gun worked beautifully. he taught himself how to properly work on the gun, and he only had a fairly major problem with it was when he was trying to play with it in 40* while running CO2. he put several aftermarket parts on himself, and timed the trigger. why is it so many people have problems with them?

It's Murphy's Law. If if doesn't come, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacement anyway. You have to baby a cocker and speak nice to it, and even then sometimes they throw fits. If you can handle it, more power to you. I've had one, and it has a certain appeal...but I like my mag.
Early to rise and early to bed may make a man healthy but socially dead.
I never had a problem with mine on CO2, but I would suggest you buy the tech tricks video before you try to adjust or do anything to it.
Hey Snappy thats my sig.
force it, if it breaks it
needed to be replaced
anyway
I went through so much crap with my cocker, but I think its just where I got it from because everything ive gotten from that place doesnt work (not saying any names). I put Co2 on it and it just went haywire (sp?), wasnt consistant at all so I went back to usin my spyder.

cockers are very cool. i plan on downgrading in some equipment and dropping one gun completely cuz car time is comming soon so im trading my rt, and selling my customized cocker and emag (i know i am a fool, its just theres something about that trigger that makes me shoot way to much and it gives me tunnel vision) and buying a black magic and eclipse double trigger frame. and putting my gen x2 reg on it
Cockers are very good markers. I own two of them: a predator and a regular one (at least until I started to mill it )
As someone said in the post, if they work don't touch anything, and put a lot of oil on the bolt. Sometimes I wonder if they work with air, or with oil
It's not easy to get a very reliable cocker. The timing tends to change after a few hours of play. Keep your toolbox near you, it'll come handy.
Otherwise they shoot very well, and with a blade trigger the rate of fire is close to the one of an electro.
They work as well on CO2 than on air. I use both, and don't see a real difference. The CO2 tends just to freeze the marker if you shoot a lot.
For the readers, I said I own two cockers, I didn't say I play with them. I love my Emag!
