    Which two barrels to keep?

Well, I have a dilemma. Two barrels are coming with my EMag, a J&J Ceramic, and Dye Alum. I already have a Dye SS. I sold my old Mag to a friend, so it needs to come with a barrel. So, which two should I keep? I looked at the PBN Barrel Chart, which says all three are .689 This is pretty disappointing, as I was hoping two would be moderatly spaced out so I could at least have a bit of a choice in regards to paint to barrel match. If anyone knows this to be false, that would be great. Please note, however, that in the near future, maybe Christmas *crosses fingers*, I will be getting a barrel kit, so please keep resale value in mind. Thanks for reading all this, so, to sum up, which two to keep?

Edit - Oh yea, please post why you chose the option you did. Thanks.

As far as single barrels go, Dye stainless is one of the best barrels I have ever shot (and I've shot quite a few)!!! If it was me, I would keep the Dye stainless, sell th J&J and Dye aluminum, and get yourself and Equation set!! Oh wait, I did that!!! Hope this helps (probably not)!!!

I'd keep the dye aluminum and sell the other two and get something else.

I like J&J ceramics, but any dye barrel is going to have higher resale value.

I don't think he can, it's not cocker threaded, so it'll be twist lock.

Maybe you could tap some threads on it and screw it yourself?

              Lose the J&J

I had a bad deal with J&J and their e-mail response, so I promised that I would forever badmouth their products!!! Sorry, just keeping a promise!!!

You almost can't beat a Dye boomstick. Keep whichever Dye you like and get a freak, if you must get rid of one of the Dye barrels. A few freak inserts is all you need. I have yet to use anything over the .693 and that was for some very big paint. I usually only use the .689 and .691 for bigger paint or if the paint is tight and brittle.

If you're hellbent on keeping two of them, I'd keep the J&J and the Aluminum. I've heard nothing but praise about the J&J Ceramic's, and I'm in love with my Dye Alum.

If you're going to consider selling, then give the guy the J&J and sell the Dye's, since they do indeed have a significantly higher resale value.
I'm way too old for this ****.

                      Hi,

Personally, I would dump for the J&J. I had the original J&J Ceramics and they were at like 685-86 Now they are at 689 for some reason. Also they were originally touted as a tight bore too!

Anyway, I sold my original one when I sold my second mag. When I got back into mags, I bought the J&J out of good luck. I figured it would work just as well. Well it didn't. I also bought one for my girlfriend Model 98 at the time. It didn't.

I would go with the DYE as well. I have a 12 inch AL old school that works awesome. I also have an old school 14in in AL and SS. They both work just as good. I am still looking for an old school 10 inch AL. Have not found one yet.

                      That's my 2 cents,
                      Alan

If you are basing your decision soley on resale value, then keep the 2 dye barrels. Like everyone has said, they do have the higher resale value.

I don't have experience with either of the barrels, but if you want to keep one that shoots best for you, then test them and get rid of the one that you thought did the worse.

                        Just my thoughts.

Have you felt how heavy the Emag is??? I'd stick with the AL barrels.
