DO NOT USE A DREMEL FOR POLISHING ALUMUNUM! It will ruin your parts for sure. You will wind up sanding with 80 grit to remove the damage the dremel did.

I have done it with great sucess. You just have to know what you are doing. And to know that a wire wheel eats aluminum like the cookie monster eats cookies. oops..

Heres one of the things I polished. It doesnt show very well my scanner reflected a lot of light. Although this didnt start out as a black piece, its the same process of polishing. Drano crystals strips annodised aluminum very well.

i was fooling around with a dremel and a buffering wheel on it one time and i ran it on the bottom part of my black body for my back up mag, so you wouldn't bebale to see it if i messed up. well. if you do it LIGHTLY and very quickly. you'll make it shiny like. but if you do it TOO LONG and push too hard, you'll take off the black teflon on it.

but the body is stainless, not aluminum. gonna have to listen to tuna on the aluminum part.

thanks, but how do i make black... chrome.

The parts are so smooth that sand paper doesn't affect them.

Since its evident that you dont know what you are doing, Id reccomend that you ask in the classified's for somone to strip them using Drano. This is a much faster method, but MUST be done by somone with knowledge of chemicals.

BTW, what parts are you trying to polish?

                        drano

i did a search for drano and that sounds like the way to go.
So i'll do that and it ought to turn out well.

                        thanks for your help everyone
