    Clear bunkers?

    I need some opinions here.

I have found a cheap(Ie free) source of 1/4 inch 4ft by 8ft sheets for plexiglass.
What I want to do with it is to make bunkers for our field out of it. I have tested the duabilty for it and it will take to punisment of repeated hits.

Should I make them? or would I be messing with all the players minds? And would you play on a field with clear bunkers?

    Let me know thanks.

I'd love to play on a field with clear bunkers, but only as a novelty at first. I think it would be really neat and fun!! I'd love to see it. I wonder if any other fields have tried this?

      Woods or speedball?

I would be scared yet having fun with those... Make them with like front on it would look like a normal bunker

But if you were in the bunker it would really be like this from the top

That way they didn't know they could get shot out the middle of the bunker... Good times *Grin*

clear bunkers on a speedball format would make it twice as tough, as you would be able to see them starting to lean out.

it'd either be tough, or a very long boring game.

but then again, it'd be neat to shoot your own bunker and cover it with paint. so it wouldn't be clear anymore so they can't see you, or shoot at their so they can't see you from their bunker.

i say go for it, i know i'd play a couple on it.

I say use the material. I would however not leave them clear. I would paint them.

I think it would take alot out of the game. You could see someone bunkering, reloading, pointing other bunkers out, etc. On the upside; I think, after a couple games, you wouldnt be able to see through them anyway.

If it's free why not. I think it would be kinda cool but like oldsoldier said after a few games you're not gonna be able to see through them anyways.

my feld has a mini speedball field made of this stuff. its REALLY cool...you have to clean it with a squeegie nightly.

nice stuff...ive always though of "Netball" as a cool idea...make all the bunkers out of ball netting.... eh?

go for it... i would love to play on it... and i mean its free! if it doesnt work out, o well! but id like to see how many people think to cover there own bunker in paint and how many are smart enough to leave a small area open to look out of?

You could always use it sparingly. If you have large bunkers you could use it as a window in the middle. That way people behind them could see the field and the opposing team could be able to see which bunkers are stacked with players or have no players left in them.

Since you own the field and are probably selling paint to the majority of the players that come, it would probably allow you to seel more paint since people will shoot the people exposed through the clear glass just out of reaction. The more paint they use the more you will sell.

I would do something like what Shartley said, but instead of painting them all the way ... leave circles or whatever so that you can peak through them. Not enough to see the whole field but enough to be able to look at say the next couple bunkers in front of you.

Definatly paint them. I've seen game where its down to 1 on 1, both people behind a net. O man its boring because both players know exactly where the other player is and what he is doing.

Clear Bunkers = Fun for the 1st time, bad idea after that.

Well, what would happen if you used a FEW clear bunkers, and made the rest 'traditional'? I mena, like the "Center" bunkr being clear, and possibly the back corners? It'd make an intressting game, actually.

There's a field here that has a translucent bunker in the center, it's hard to play, but it's incredibly fun. You can see shillouettes through it, so when the sun is right, it's basically transparent.

my local arena has 10 feilds(working no 12) and one of them is a net feild so all the bunkers are nets. its kinda cool so you can tell where people are going to pop out of.
Pardon my grammical and spelling errors i'm low on time and high on work.
