    Alternative to a remote...

    Greetings all!!

I recently received the minimag I told everyone about (for those who were here a few weeks ago, I scored a mini on Ebay for $170!) and I love it! There is just this one problem...

You see I'm a back player (I'm too old and fat to play anything else) and I have always felt the bottle hanging verticly off the bottom of the weapon is awkward....it snags on bunkers and other cover. My first impulse was to run out and buy a remote. Bad move. In the few games I've played with said remote, it has gotten in the way countless times. Also, it never seems long enough and the tugging against my gun-hand when I aim is distracting. As one might exepect, the remote is History.

What would be a decent replacement. I was thinking of a drop-forward and a gas-through foregrip. I run N2 with the gun, so an expansion chamber is not an option...
    Should I go this route?
What would be the pros and cons of such a set up? What would be a decent brand to look at?

    Thanks,

    Suggestion

you could try a different remote. I use a coiled remote, and it tugs, and took some getting used to, but I also have a straight stainless steel line that works really well.(as long as it's exactly the right length)

thats what most players with N2 do. i have a good drop forward. you dont even need hte gas through as you can run the hose straight from the drop to the valve...easy as can be. you should only get hte gas through if you want a foregrip to hold....

i highly recommend the drop forward and gas trough approach

as for Drops, i like the CP drops, the PMI Perfect Drop(what i have)

I would suggest the lapco T-stock combined with a dropforward that balances the weight.

That way your gun would be steady and the tank out of the way.

I have a classic mag .. and what I did was pick up a screw in Nitro tank (68/3000 PMI) and a nice drop forward w/ on-off connector and just run the macro hose directly from the valve to the drop forward and just screw in the nitro tank. I plan on replacing the tank w/ a nice adjustable setup when I get my Xvalve, but it works great for now. Here's a pic..

get a palmer stabilizer, you can run your co2 on a bottomline setup and it will work fine.

Choosig a drop forward is a very personal choice, based on your size, the size of your tank, where you'd like the tank to sit, etc.. All you need to do is to take your setup to a store, and see diferrent drop frwards and choose one that will put your tank where you are comfortable with!!

No, no....the mini is set up for vertacle...but I don't care to run it that way. Seems like it will get in the way.

And yes I am running a 3k PSI N2 system.

                            Thanks,

Toss on a gas-thru, and a drop forward. The system-X one shown above looks good.

That's what I'd do at least.
