why people own cockers and angels

and less mags are on the field.........
is the only reason why people buy angels are cuz there electric and they cost alot and cockers........ there are a little more upgradable and they both look bad ***....

and a mag looks simple?? or is there another reason???

Sig, your probably right. Cockers are so complicated that people must think there are more things to upgrade, so it MUST be better! But I dont know whats up with Angels, I mean, they are great guns but I guess because they are just so expensive. I dont know. I like all three for different reasons but I just love mags simplicity, quality and reliability.

      'cockers

Many people like the fact that 'cockers are complicated to work on. I have considered getting one in the past to tinker with it and mess around just for the fun of seeing what I can (and can't) make it do. I also took interest in its mechanical system and the way it works, as you can modify and change around just about everything on them. There are many factors involved in what makes people think their gun is better, ranging from low pressure operation to sheer simplicity.

After all the 'cocker glorification, why did I go with a 'mag? Once I had enough cash to buy an electro, I considered the Angel instead of buying a 'cocker. Having had a powerfeed 'mag for about a month before I sold it, I remembered AO and AGD's service, and brought the E-Micro/Mag into my decision. Upgradability was a big issue for me at the time. Why go with an Angel, I thought, when I could just go with AGD's products and have available direct support, upgradability, and other rare features found in a paintball company and their products. With the Angel, I'd have to sell my old one and buy a new one whenever I saw something I liked better. With AGD's services, features can be added on, and upgrades can be fitted onto existing markers for a fee much lower than having to buy a completely new marker. The Angel was out of the question, despite its looks and hype, and I went with an E-Micromag setup.

I have an emicromag and an angel, I perfer the angel, for one reason, reliablity. dont get me wrong mags are very reliable, but my Emicro has had some realiability problems (bet its proteams fault and not AGDs though )

The best thing about Angels it that Angels never ever break, they are super reliable. I have had several over 3 years and have yet to have one break on me.

I am glad that someone has been having good luck with Angels, which are truly a great gun, if you take proper care of it.

I own several paintball guns, an autococker 2001 Phase 01, in fact. I enjoy tinkering and playing with it. In fact, the main reason I bought it was because of the complex operating look that it has.

As some of you may well know, I am the proud owner of an E-mag conversion, I converted my trusty RT Pro to an E-mag. If I was ever going electro, I always said, it would have to be the E-mag because of not only the simplicity and reliability of the basic design but the engineering behind the product.

            Lets see, I own both.........

Cocker - lots of tournament teams use them (hype, brand name recognition)....

Uniqueness - some people just think that backblock is sooooooooo interesting.

Customization - People like owning a cocker that NO one else has the same modifications on....Last time I checked, no one had a cocker like mine, and I can say the same for another teammate of mine. People like guns they can call thier own.

Finally, styles.........About 20 different cockers are made by anywhere from WGP to small stores and other large stores. More variety means more choices and more of a reason to buy.

For the angel, the same thing can be said. It is unique , meaning it was the first triple tube gun on the market. People are facinated with the shiny LCD screen and the magnificent 14 way and the price tag of $1200 for a stock black LCD. Plus all kinds of shops are doing custom angels, and people love them for the fact for $2000 they can buy a angel that Rocky , Avalanche (Darks), Adrenalin, Chris LaSoya, Lockout (Freeflow), Shocktech (Aftershock), DYE, or Cobra that some profesional paintball player designed/uses. I mean, if they worked for them, they should work to get pros to where they are........They must work for novice people as well......Right? Same thing can be said for Mags, back in the day when most good players used mags, you could find more mags in use than cockers, angels, shockers and any other gun out there was COMBINED....

But there are exceptions to the rule, the Bushmaster is starting to become rather popular and nearly no one uses them.....But....thats the only example I can think of.

just a few thoughts about all the angel and cocker madness

Good choice User. The Angel seems to be a fad right now because people go "wow" when they hear how much you paid for a paintball gun. And besides, alot of people want them because thats what they see in magazines alot. Having an Angel now seems to either make you look rich, or you are trying to cover up your lack of skill with rate of fire. But, I have held a few Angels, that I wouldnt mind having. Cockers are also what I have seen alot of in tournaments, and magazines. They seem popular because they are upgraded easily, and there is much you can do with one. With AGD's release of the new E-Mags, I think it will be back on top in no time.

I happen to love the look of mags, but even some of my friends call it the regulated barrel. They usually shut their mouths once I start unloading on them. And why would anyone want taht back block flying back and forth everytime you shoot? That thing is dangerous, and besides, you can't tuck in as close anyway. Last thing I need is a large scratch on my lense where the block him it. The only cocker I will shoot is my sister's Chris Cole.

Warped RT...I dont think the Emag will become king of guns like it was, dont get me wrong, the gun is very very great.....But with about 10 other electros on the market, I dont think AGD would get back to #1, but more likely share it with a few other guns....AGD was the king when only 2 great guns were out.......Times are different.

Also, for thoes who think that Angels cost alot more...Just wait till I get my hands on a Modular Emag.......It'll make angel price tags look..............Low.......

                  Cockers

Cockers are sweet. They are light, they rock and are not electric at the same time, they can be customized to be unique to you, and look gorgeous.
Being difficult in the tech department is good to some ppl, hell to others.

Personally, I will make my own custom cocker at some point, after Mag perfection is reached.

Angel's, ppl buy those cuz they are good looking too, and they are good quality...
                  whatever, who cares.

                  stay with yer Mag

                    I got a cocker because...

IT RULES ALL MAGS, BUSHYS, IMPYS AND ANGELS!!!!!! JK
I got mine because I wanted something to upgrade and play around with. Now that I felt the trigger and its great. And it has alot of upgrades for it later on. I have a cocker video so I know how to time it and assemble and dissasemble. and It works better on co2 than mags, and it looks sooo cool.
You smell like dookie... No really though.

Cocker are for customization, tinkering with, and because well, the back of it moves.

The statement about Angels being reliable... well, it kinda depends. It took me around 8 months to get mine to work right, but as soon as I fixed about every part on the gun it worked like a dream and still does. Only thing I'm doin to it now is Warp Feed and maybe some milling or ano.

About people not usin mags. They kind of have a reputation of chopping balls, and mag barrels can be a problem (price, availablility, wire nubbins). But one thing Ive always wanted to do is to make a mag from scratch because they are so simple.

Cockers run great on co2 till...............you inject liquid into the pneumatics , then pop goes your reg , 3way and ram. I've talked to quite a few people who have done $100s in damage using co2.

Worst thing that'll happen with a mag on co2 is a cheap 50cent oring breaks

Cockers are very upgradable and each cocker is different and unique to it's owner user, that's sort of what i feel about them. I currently shoot a cool looking Cocker but today it just blew up. It also blew up my love for Cockers. Air just started gashing out inbetween teh frontblock and the main body. Man, was i ever pissed. I even called my local shop, they said they can't get to start fixing it till two days after and i have a tournament commingin four days so that won't be enough time... back onthe subject... cockers are very trickable.

I guess people are attracted to Angels because back then they were like THE gun. 13bps with a super light trigger, man was that ever sweet. the only competition i had really was the PVI Shocker. Then came along the other electros and I guess the Angel just kept it's popularity and now this is the outcome and i believe are growing because the majority of tournament players use Angels and when little Jimmy with a Tippmann sees all these awsome players using Angels, he's gonna thing they are the best guns. Then little Jimmy goes around telling his friends how great Angels are then the diseas spreads to them and so on.

Now that i hate cockers, i'm thinking about selling mine as soon as i fix it. Possibly i might get a Mag of some sort again but i really wanna try something different. maybe a Matrix or an LED Angel if i can find one.

I prefer cockers because I'm more accurate with them, and consequently a better player. If you hit what you want to, every time you shoot, then you are going to be more confident and from that more aggressive.

I don't play as well with mags or angels.

Simple concept. I like the simplicity of the mag, although I'm not a fan of the trigger. I like the simplicity of the angel, although I'm beginning to feel that they are a little overhyped.

I did own 12 at one time or other.

                            Only two mags, though.

actually, atleast from my experience, your analogy is wrong. I bought a cocker because I love how they feel, how they operate, how they look, etc. Take a look at my mags, they look TIGHT, I think my warp mag looks better than my cocker personally, but I prefer my cocker. I'll post pics of my cocker and one of my best looking mags side by side, and you can see how they look. I just like to play with my cocker more, especially once I get my eclipse blade frame (those things are godly).

Oh and so you know, i have 6 mags and have tryed about everything out there for them. My friend goes through cockers like candy (buying and selling) so I get to play with and try some of the best cockers, and my mags I have with supreme setups. I just prefer the cocker, its personal preference. I really like my mag pistol tho

Now, going off my friends cockers, I'd choose their looks over any mags, then again one is a custom satin ripper with eclipse blade, and evolution setup (pneumatics, roller sear, etc) and the blue to pewter fade eclipse cocker (a pic was going around the forums here of his gun) with blade and stock (evolution) setup. I dont care what anyone says, those 2 guns are amazing.
