      i buy orings for all my connections then put loctite on it and replace the orings every 6 months
      Pardon my grammical and spelling errors i'm low on time and high on work.

          Huge reminder people: Loctite 271(red) and 242(blue) are Threadlockers , not sealants, they were designed to lock fasteners (nuts and bolts) in place!! Loctite 545 is a Sealant, which means it was designed to go on fittings to prevent leakage!! Please quit confusing the two!!

              using red loc-tite, works fine on any fitting, as long as you dont overuse it! yes 545 works best, but 247 red works fine also. when using red loc-tite, you should only put 2 drops on the fitting, so that the last 3 threads are completely covered all the way around. then after threading in, you use a rag to clean up the excess. use only enough loc-tite to cover the 3 threads, if you have too much, use a q-tip to remove the excess. i have used blue also, and it works well, just not as well as red. too many people over use teflon tape or liquid pipe tape. first of all it looks ugly, second it gets into the reg and gun, clogging up the whole mess. when i have to use tape, i use teflon tape for gas pipe fittings. it is a bit thicker and easier to work with. it wraps nicer and doesnt fray as much. i use teflon when i am in a hurry, and cant wait for loc-tite to dry.

                  I use loctite when I am working at home, but keep teflon tape in my tool kit for any problems that may arise at the field. Locktite works/looks better and if you have a dental pick it very easy to clean. Just don't let any of the pieces fall into the gun. (don't remember the number of locktite...I'm at work)
