intell x-board??

i just installed an x-board in my rev. its an oldschool 18 volt rev. the thing screams with out the switch in line but as son as i use the micro its like a huge voltage drop. it slows down, anyone else know of this? im stumped it doesnt make any sence it should spin just as fast. i took one side of the switch to the red wire and the other side to the bttery terminal like instructed buy the instructions.

any help? thanks

i'm thinking that the plug thingies regulate the voltage down...
