Last night I was in a local paintball storel here and started talking to a guy about mags, when the guy behind the counter couldn't help him. Anyway, this guy had a few cockers, an LCD Angel, an Impulse, a Mini-Mag and an old style RT with Level 10. We're BSing about the mags for a bit and he tells me he just sold his IR3 to someone and is looking to get rid of the LCD too. I asked him why he got rid of the IR3 and is looking to sell the LCD Angel and here was his response.

He goes, and I quote "Who needs an IR3, when I have an RT? I love it and it rips."

The look on the guy behind the counter's face was great. (He's an angel lover through and through).

Anyway, I thought some of you would find this amusing.

OK it was a while ago when I still was using my simple piranha but there was this fat, short (like 4' 11") kid who was really annoying and pretty much sucked at paintball. Anyway, he walks up to me before we even start the game, and goes "hey what kinda gun you shootin'" so i just reply "just my Piranha, why?" and then he goes "Why are you shooting that crap gun? You should get a real good gun like mine [lifts his up] This is a Spyder Series 2000 special edition. it has an electronic trigger that can shoot up to 16 balls per second! and I got it for 360 dollars from my friend, when it costs more like 450! Wish you had a better gun huh?"

This kid is/was such an idiot I can't believe it, because next, he walks over to this other guy who has a nice tricked cocker with a warp feed an all, and spouts of the same information! Unbelievable... how naive.

My teammate and I were about to play 5 inexperienced players so I decided to se down my emag and get my vsc phantom. We got ready to play and here was the situation.

Some kid: What's that?
Me: It's a Phantom
Some kid: Is it a pump?
Me: Yep
Some Kid: Haha, you're gonna get killed.
Me: Well, do you want me to go get my Emag?
Some kid: .... NOOOOOO!! (along with the rest of his friends)

We proceded to stomp them into the ground with me getting I think 4 of the 5 with my "inadequate" pump. :)

I love the newer paintball kids that play at one field all the time and never get out anywhere else. To them the only markers that are any good are Autocockers and Angels cause that's all they've really ever seen, and all they hear is the Cocker propaganda. So when I showed up the first time at this field with my mags, I kept getting questions like "What type of Gun is that?" and my response would be "an Automag" and the return was always "Is that like an Autococker?" I let one kid at the chrono shoot my .68 powerfeed once and he got so excited, ran out to tell all his friends that he "shot that awesome gun." I got a chuckle out of it.

I love people who think Spyders or Tippmanns are "THE" marker to have. I remember setting up for a game and overhearing one of the guys in front of me saying "I hate Piranhas". I commented that I liked mine, he looked at it and said "Oh, that's not a Piranha" (I had a Pro TS G3).

To many people read the hype and not the facts.

My favorite is when some newbie pointed at my Emag/Warp comb and asked...

"What kind of Angel is that?"

His dad had a shiny new LCD in polished chrome, it looked great and you could see it no matter where he was hiding on the field. Fortunately he was on the other team.

"Where's the guy with the Angel?"
"Just shoot at the shiny object, that'll be him."
"Oh right, he's the chrome dude."

I had a similar situation, but with a ReTroMag/Warp combo. I was asked,

"Is that an Autococker?"

My favourite was at Wasaga Beach's 10th Aniversary game last year. Some kid come up and asks me if my marker was a Impulse or a Shocker.

My Response: 'Nope, it's an Angel'

Well, between the Big SP Logo's, Freak and Max-Flo, I can see somebody figuring that I'm a SmartParts fan, but since when does an Angel look like anything SP ever put out?
