    which material costs more?

    well. two solid pieces of stainless steel and aluminum, same size. which one could cost more?

    Probably the Steel.

    Depends also on whether you are talkin a lump or something machined, as well as what aluminum alloy you are talking about.

      so if you mill holes in a aluminum block, it costs more then doing the same to a stainless steel?

        Depends on the Alloy. Some alloys of Aluminum are more expesive than Stainless steel. Stainless steel is generally more expensive to machine though.

              there are various alloys of aluminum that include different metals in them. strengths, weights, etc all vary with different alloys
