Paintball Apparel 4: Pants and protective gear

Again, the pants are expensive, why is this? Also, my knees usually become very sore after a day of pball, how are the knee pads sold for pball???
Do they limit movement at all?
    Are they comfy?

OK, dumb apparel posts are over.

I'd hope the pants are more expensive because of the higher quality and durability... because a weak pair of pants may not hold up very well in some situations that can arise during a game of paintball... as for pads, Im not very familiar in that are

As for the high price pants I don't know either I just wear $15 BDU's. I've got Renegade knee/shin gaurds. I like them alot I can move freely. I think that they are one of the best apparal items that I've bought.

some pants are made of ripstop cordura which is like high impact plastic and nylon materials sewn into a fabric sheet plus you pay for the logos too but they can really take a huge beating

the shinpads are nice and they do restrict a little movement but you do get used to it. the best ones to get are either the JT Emotion or go to a bike shop and look for Fox 911 knee/shin pads which are used for mountain biking (duh) these are also really good for PB because they have hard plastic shin and knee caps then the rest is really soft and squishy yet protective goretex (i think its goretex) but its a sweet pad

I dont know if I like the JT emotions. I got a pair and it seems the rhino hide (or whatever it is called) seems to stick to the ground much more than it does to you. And if you slide on your knees alot I wouldnt recommend these. However, you can slide baseball style but I find it much easier to not where any pads and just take the beating. The jt's are comfortable though.

I wear a pair of the JT Pro Series pants. They fit really well and are extremely comfortable. There are so many pockets for stuff! I also like being able to change them to shorts at the end of the paintball day. They are pricy, but I think that they are worth it.

              hard pads

the ground around here is pretty rocky, and kneeling down hard on a rock is enough to make a grown man say "@)&@_@&_$#@ that hurts!!!"...so, keep that in mind if you are playing around lil rocks...i use jt emotions, they seem to be ok, kinda slide down during the day, but ok, mostly
