    Dremel

Everyone is talking about how they milled their rail or whatever with a dremel...I really don't know what it is.

Is this the same idea as one?

Oh yea...Does this look like a good soldering iron?

I get errors on both those links, something about invalid item numbers?

cool they work. yep thats the same idea, only thing is it looks like that's only got 4 speed selections. Dremels are usually adjustable from 3000 - 35000 rpm (depending on what model you get, the cordless i think is only 20000)...that ony only goes to 22000 but doesn't seem to be adjustable in between, that would make it hard for detail/fine work if you can't get it adjusted right.

i suggest getting a soldering iron, not a gun. iv used both and prefer the iron... with the gun you have to hold the trigger for it to warm up ( which is a pain) and it is also MUCH heavyer and bulkyer than any iron iv used... thats for house hold stuff

try to get something more like this... also try searching for a soldering station.

industrial use and such i have NO clue, hope im of some help.

irons are so much more worth it. i mean if u wanna do one joint or something sure its fine, but if ur doing a lot of work the irons the ONLY way to go.

btw, those irons are really only good for wires and such. if ur looking to solder metal together, i suggest a mini butane torch for small parts, and a butane/oxygen torch for the big jobs. hell i solder with my torch lighter and it kicks ***

Well... to be honest... that is because it is NOT a Dremel. There are lots of tools out there that do what dremels to, look like dremels, etc. but they are not all Dremels.

Does anyone have a tutorial on the net about how to use a Dremel effectively? Like what bits to use for certain jobs? (cutting and carving metal especially)
