I guess the way I read it, this Teacher sounded to
me like he has "Gun" issue's. I find that hard to
relate to, having been brought up in a generation
where I was REQUIRED to take a rifle to school.
The class was called Hunter Safety, and it was
taught in school when I was a kid.
I understand with the rash of school shooting's,
that Teacher's are somewhat leary {sp} of anything
that may be remotely related to the shooting sport's.
But by the same token I learned how to shoot from
my father in 1965, I grew up in a house where neither
the gun's nor the ammunition was locked up, Because
everybody in the house was taught Proper Respect for
the consequences of using them.
I'm going to be 43 yr's old in 5 week's, and I have never
had to shoot anybody{Thank God} but I have on several
occasion's in my life had to make a show of loading
a live weapon. That's as close as I've ever gotten to
shooting a person, and the BAD GUY always backed down.
{Thank God Again}
Because if the BAD GUY come's into My house and does'nt
back down when he hear's that weapon "Racked", I will
Shoot and never have a guilty feeling about it.
I have had in several of my post's the statement
Gun Control mean's Hitting what You Aim At
I'm a Firm Believer in Gun Control.
I was a competitive High Power Rifle shooter
even before I started playing paintball,
and I still shoot enough matches every year to keep
my NRA qualification current.

I'm not sure where that Rant came from, I guess it's been
building up in me for a looonnnggg!! time. It was'nt aimed
at you or anyone specific, I guess it was something I had
to get off my chest and for some reason it "just came out now".
I do understand what you are saying about the fact that
there are Teacher's out there who could make a lot more money doing instead of teaching. But they see where they can make a contribution to the forwarding of Mankind
by teaching other's instead of just profiting by what
they know and can do.
