    PSP Press confrence today...

    Ok, so it's a bordeline spam thing. But, I figured it's some intresting stuff that they talked about.

    I guess that PSP will be holding an "open X-Ball" format, anyone that wants to can play it instead of playing 10 man. It's all laid out on the audio file, but it's some intresting stuff there.

    Opinions?

      O man.....

      that thing went on forever.... i'd coment on it.. but i think i phased out after 5min.. and didnt have the patience to listen again.. lol

      just the comments on there being an Expert Xball level thingy caught my attention... but doesnt mean much to me at the novice level anyways....

          Theres division 1 and 2 for xball...

          Evil Factory is the 9th x-ball team.

              I may be the minority, and I'm not trying to be negative and this is from the point of view from someone who doesn't play tourament paintball but has followed it on and off since the inception of the NPPL. I think that both of the sanctioning bodies do not realize what a disservice they are doing to the game by acting like children. I understand that money is what drives paintball and that is fine but i do not see any of this as being good for the game. I see the old promoters (the PSP) as thinking that they are too good for the game and are only concerned about their own products and not the games that are supposedly "promoting" their tournaments (and promoting the sport which is something I think they have never done in the first place. Capitalize on the sport, yes; promote it, no.) I also feel like the old Players Union (Chuck's NPPL) did not deserve to have any control over the operation of the league for leaving it in ruins for years while the players played and being totally in the dark about what was going on behind the scenes without their knowlege.
              I am waiting to see what happens in this whole scenario. I have a feeling it's going to play itself out much in the way of the IRL and CART rivalry with both of them suffering for many years before this can all get sorted out. My greatest fear is that they will both die on the vine before anyone of them can succeed. I don't think paintball as a sport can sustain two different leagues but I guess this will be a test. I have my own favorites by which I will still chear (even if most of the teams are blatant cheaters with no hope for recovery).

                  I'm going to bump this up since the download at Webdog Radio has some intresting info to tourny players for next year in the PSP.

                  The bit about the NXL (National X-ball league) was intresting. There's going to be 9 teams across the country based out of cities. Chicago gets Aftershock (duh!).

                              I find intresting a few other things as well. NXL players aren't allowed to play anywhere else. ALSO, a lot of video people can't tape X-Ball. Traumahead, for example, won't be allowed to tape the games. NEWS media, however, MAY. I'm not sure what's up, but I think I see the pattern.

                                  Yup Muzikman..I was actually introduced to paintball around 93'..it's been way too long..but i do remember the days of Youngblood shooting the nickel cocker in his black tuxedo jacket..(hahahhaha..now that's old school)
