    PumpMag, Sydarm, and Bodies

    Tom,
I was wondering if there were any Sydarm bodies laying around the Attic or the Factory. With the addition of the Pump-Rails to the Pump Kits in the Online Store, I would like to build a 'Stock Class' Mag.

Now, having said that, please know that I am not versed on the 'Stock Class' rules and I don't know if the Sydarm Body would even be considered SC legal.

Do the Sydarm bodies have the pump slot milled in them, or is that something I'd have to do myself?

Are the Sydarm bodies even capable of fitting on the tradional rail, using the tradition valve, or would I be wasting my time?

I have a garage full of tools that I could do some basic mods to the body if need be. I'm just wondering if this is a feasible idea, or if I'm totally mental.

Of there are no Sydarm bodies available, could you be persuaded to sell some of the bead-blasted tubing used for the powerfeeds?

    Thanks ~ Jonesie

BTW - This is one of theose posts that I HATE reading because it's addressed directly to Tom. Sorry.

Having never seen one in person, it seemed like a good idea? No? Oh well, never mind. Maybe I can get some of the tubing beadblasted?

The big problem is that at Thordic put it, the valve in a Sydarm is smaller than a regular mag. So, a normal mag valve willnot fit in a Sydarm body.

Now, using my Sydarm (S/N SY00101) it does have the larger slot in the body for the pump rod and it also has the milled groove in the rail. For kicks I tossed my pump kit on the Sydarm and it worked like a champ. So, if you can find a Saydarm out there, you could make a SC Mag. The problem is paying for it and making sure it works. By the time you are done, you are going to have a $600+ pump gun...might as well buy a Carter

Sure it will. Put a Sydarm-like body on it (with Horizontal feed tube) and a 12 gram quick change in the vert adapter and you have a stock class Mag. (Oh yeah, pump kit too)

sydarms with a pump kit are not stock class. they have a spring feed

i had a similar question many moons ago. the general conclusion is tom said it wouldnt work ( probibly to keep me from buying a sydarm since he doesnt want people to get them)

im almost positive the 12g dont have enough pressure for a mag to cycle... ill have to find the thread where i read that... then again, it could have been a dream

#1 - I would need to take out the spring feed of the sydarm.

#2 - The mag was designed to run on CO2. That's what's in a 12gram. In MOST applications, CO2 is at ~850PSI. Ever heard of a 6 pack+ or whatever they are called? That was a 12 gram changer designed by AGD.

                  Just to clarify.
