Actually Dude, its one of the few things in paintball that will actually shoot farther and flatter at the same angle...

it gives you a longer effective range when you have any overhanging branches, or are unable to arc your shots. even then, it can be advantagous since the ball is spinning at such a rate that stopping the ball from spinning (long range hit not hard enough to break on its own) can often break the ball giving you a longer breaking range.

Flatlines are tons of fun in rec and big games, you suddenly get lots of respect with your "dumb old tippmann"

      Flatline Cocker

Bud Orr himself used a Flatline EBLADE Autococker at the Worr Lords scenario game in Lake Elsinore, California a few weeks ago. Not only did it positively rip, it did so without breaking paint in my presence but it also shot extremely far...much farther than any gun of mine. Yes it's werid looking, yes it's awkward, but yes it works. Is it selling? Well, that's more a question for Ken Chamberlain or Sonny Lopez at WGP than for anyone around here.

the eblade just came out and the flatline proboly wasnt selling well, so why not kill 2 birds with one stone?

and the eblade beingon it , takes away the thought that you can't shoot fast on flatliens

Actually, yes they do, the paint carries much further on a nice flat tragectory.

I watched a guy in a ghillie suit with a flatline model 98 and a scope do some serious damage at range on an open field. No one could get close enough to even hit him, he was able to hit them with inpunity, it was great.

I shot one at the 2000 Grand Finale scenario game in Ocala, FL, and was out with folks who were shooting them, as they were a new product from WGP then.

On the Wayne's World field, they ripped, especially shooting into building windows, and through buildings (in a window and out a door, or vise-versa on the "sinkertown" part of the field. Subjectively, it appeared to be quite a bit more accurate than the flatline M98 - I suspect this is due to less recoil and gun shake when shooting, and better shot to shot velocity consistency from the 'cocker's valving and double regulation.

Yes, you can make hook shots by tilting all the way sideways, but like learning to shoot tilted instead of off-hand with the Warp Feed, the gun is different and you need to learn how to shoot it differently. From my experiences shooing the 98 with Flatline barrel, I can say the claims that a small amount of tilt causes a hook shot are exagerated - I've never had a problem with unintended hook-shots.

Another misconception - - Flatline barrels aren't any harder to clean than normal barrels - a straight shot squeegie or pull through still does the job just fine.

Also a note, for the last year or so, the Flatline 'cockers have been built with an interchangeable breech, so you can swap it out and use a normal 'cocker barrel if you want.

You know you can just swap in the words X-Mag and Warp Feed, and your statement applies equally well to the picture.

I'd buy one for woodsball or scenarios. But I only play speedball so one of those wouldn't appeal to me. I never liked the flatline idea before, but it looks nice on a cocker. Anyone know how much this costs? I'm guessin inb the $100 area.

MSRP is $600. You can't just buy the barrel and slap it on a regular Autococker. The gun has a modular breech system.

I've been nailed at well over 200 feet by a guy using a flatline tippy. Also, he was shooting up at me from the bottom of a hill! Let's see....200+ feet up a 45 degree angle hitting me....grrrrrrr. On the upside, they break 1 in 50 balls, so I have pletty of time to bunker those annoying flatliners

                            Flatline Tippman...

I played ni December at a ski trip and one of the other teachers came out on the field with his brand new 98 with the flatline. He still had price tags on the suit and the case he was carrying the gun in so I was giggling at him being and "old newbie". Then when we were playing he kept getting me out, and I never EVER saw him. Finally I played a game on his team and we ran together. He was hittign targets so far away that I almost cried! I don't care what they say or what they look like, this thing shoots FAR!
