Is AGD planning on sending out Extremes for review?

Sending out guns to various publications/sites is a really good way to increase visibility of a product. People already on AO know all about the extremes (and want them), but the word needs to get out into the general paintball populace. Places like Warpig, Pbstar, P8ntballer, and Paintball.com get significant traffic, and are among the sites I would think of when sending out guns. Everybody has the internet, while only a portion of paintballers get magazines. Is AGD going to send out extremes for review?

The "talk" on it is already huge ... just about everyone who's "into the sport" has been talking about it.

But I agree, some nice long reviews on some major publications would be nice to see.

hehe, while your at it you can send me one to review for paintballarizona.com ...lol

    Sincerely,

Warpig.com will most likely have a review.

Bill Mills is a frequent visitor to the AO and I'm sure he has a Xmag or one at least on order.

If Tom wants to send me one, I'll put it thru it's paces and post it to the (so far non existant) Paintball Section of jonesie.com!

Send one to Ravi Chopra, he's a pretty well respected paintball publician. Plus he's had some pretty down experiences with automags in the past (he chops with them like crazy, the only exception being the Vortex Mag).

Maybe a nice X-mag with all the trimmings sent to him on loan for him to review might change his perspective on the mag...

NO WAY! First thing he'd do is file down the sear. Then he'd mess with the trigger rod. 5 of his 6 "Trigger Job" tricks are considered Cardinal Sins of the Automag! An he wonders why he chops on the mag!

I hear he's a god with an Cocker, but I wouldn't trust him with my Mag!

Why doesn't someone with an X-mag write a review for APG/Paintball Magazine. Reviews are basically an introduction to the features and benefits of a marker anyway (since so much of what we like about a marker is personal preference). Profile can discuss reduced weight, level 10, reactive trigger, sexy new look, etc. It is basically free advertising for AGD and will serve to educate the general public.

                        From Ravi's site
Since the sear and on/off would be electronically activated with a solenoid and a suitable gap between shots for recharge could be programmed in, I felt that shootdown would become a non-issue.
                        Is he serious?

                              SHUSH!

I am eagerly awaiting my custom 'mag, and of course I'll be writing about it. It is very likely, that as with many of my larger product reviews that will also be published in a magazine.

This sparks some interesting thoughts on magazine and web reviews....

I've sometimes gotten e-mails from people eager to see me write a review on XXXX paintgun, because that's what they have. That seems a bit silly to me, because if they've already got it, they don't need to learn what it's features are to consier it's purchase. Perhaps they're hoping I'll describe a feature they didn't understand, but it often doesn't seem that way. I had someone this summer downright irate at me that I hadn't yet finished a review on a particular paintgun he'd already owned for 3 or 4 months. It's as if some people feel a need to convince others that they got the right paintgun. I don't know if that makes sense, but it just seems a little odd to me.

As for AGD *needing* to rush guns out to the press... As I understand it, they are selling faster than they being made, so already there's enough demand for the product at present. I'm sure Tom has schedules planned out to increase product awareness in time with production level increases. Otherwise it could just lead to frustrated customers who get excited about something only to find out they can't buy one in time for the game this weekend. People (in general) are fickle, and often impatient.

As for my 'gun... I came up with what I think is a very sweet milling concept, Manike worked (and I do mean *worked*) it out into a real, workable, machinable design that looks even cooler than I thought it would, and I've been waiting about a year and a half since I had the original idea. I'm patient, and I think it's going to be well worth the wait.

                              See you on the field,
                              -Bill Mills
