    Q on Freak Backs

    2 questions:

-What is the advantage of a stainless back over an alumnium back besides the shiny look?

-What is the weight difference between the 2 backs?

    Thanks!

On lighter guns, I know a bunch of people that prefer the stainless back because of the extra weight. They claim it reduces the kick of their guns. Don't know if it's true or not, however.

Hehe, I'm pretty sure I could prove that wrong with some physics. Care for me to try?

I got stainless for durability. Fits well the the whole theme of the Mag. The weight difference is negligable, I'm sure.

I've got 3 backs: aluminum = cocker, mag (twist), stainless = Shocker.

The stainless is MUCH heavier. Not a big deal by it's self but throw that onto an already bloated gun (anyone of the three) and it starts adding up. I don't feel as comfortable with the aluminum as I'm always worried about scratching it - but I wish I'd gotten the alum Shocker back.

First let me say I love my freak, but....

I have gone through 3 stainless backs for my cocker. The new style with the milled down center, is weaker then the original stainless backs. I have bent them, now I use the thicker aluminum backs, haven't bent them at all on my emag, or my cocker.

P.S. I am sure it doesn't help when I (285 lbs) guy slides into a bunker and slams into it.
