    Smart Parts Tank Armor

I just found this the other day, http://www.xpaintball.com/smarpar68cit.html and I was wondering if anyone has seen or used one. They aren't on SP's site yet but it says that they are used by firefighters so I figured I'd post and see if anyone has had any experience w/ them. I'm really wondering how the top part connects over the tank? It looks like the reg. may need to come off for installation but that doesn't seem right either.

I like the name, but that really is a wannabe lok sok. If it were "armor" wouldn't at least cover the whole tank?

It does cover the whole tank. The one in the pic w/ the tank in it is the clear one.

It does actually look really nice...on SP we bsite, they have a pic of the blue one on the shocket and it looks NICE! However, I just bought a 45 tank and a 45 ronn stern tank cover...any1 have experience with the ronn stern covers? Mine hasnt gotten here yet...

The cover is in two pieces, the bottom of the tank and the sleeve are bonded together and the the "dome" that covers it all up then fits over at the regulator end in exactly the same way as a Lok Sok does, there "may" be a next generation of these where the black sections are coloured to be in keeping with the sleeve colour. I was talking with the maker of these at the World Cup in October (not Smart Parts, they have just done the distribution thing) and they are a shrunk down version of the same thing used by firefighters on their breathing gas tanks. The idea behind it apart from protection is that the Hydro date can be seen clearly rather than having to remove the cover to show it. It is better than a Lok Sok 'cos the whole bottle is covered, admittedly on an AIR then the regulator will look a little strange 'cos of the gap but on all other regulators it will look the same as a Lok Sok being fitted but with the added bonus of all of the tank being covered.
