JJ edge or CP kit?

my teamate and i both need a barrel kit. we are looking at either getting the jj or the cp kit. i have a few questions about them. do the jj or the cp kits come in a vert mag back? the owner at the local store told me the jj were bad because the bore sizes werent avccurate, is this true?

i think the CP comes with way too much extra. i haven't actually used my JJ kit yet, but i am this weekend. the what i liked about it was that it was so cheap, not over priced (114 at paintball-discounters.com)
as for the bores not being the accurate 'size' as it is stated on the backs, that isn't much of a concern to me as i do a paint back test and choose the one that fits the best, not by whats printed. all though the JJ only comes with the lowest back of .686 but they do sell a .683 so.
the JJ does come with vert back.

as for the CP, it was nice that they did have all the extras, but i dont find it rather something you need. and for 200 dollars vs 100, and having liked JJ barrels, i went with the JJ kit. i have had bad luck with two CP barrels. on two different mags, with many diff type of paint. neither of them worked that well for me.

plus with JJ you can always buy the tip you want without spending all the extra money like i did.


i guess you call this a JJ vote. but i haven't tried a CP barrel kit so, maybe Havoc or someone can enlighten you on them

well my dad has a cp kit on his micro emag so thats why i didnt ask anything about it. they sell the base kits with 3 backs and a tip for 140-170. i was mainly concerned about what the store owner had said and if either of them are available in vert mag backs. thanks for the input!

Load and SpaceManSpiff both swear by the Edge Kits when they were using them... (space doesnt anymore since he has a Scepter)

Tip length...

What is the best tip length you guys have used? I am looking into a barrel system and am wondering which length I shuld start out with. I currently have 8", 10" & 14" barrels, I sold my 12" J&J with my old mag. I like them all, but am wondering if the twopiece barrels are different. I must say, the $114 for the J&J kit is tempting. Suggestions on tip lenght is appreciated.

I bought a JJ kit but before I got to use it I sold my rt and bought a vert feed Emag. I was going to get the edge kit again but no one had the in stock besides JJ them selfs and I did not to pay $150 from them for it so I ended up spending $177 for a freak kit.
I also only use 12in barrels

Be carefull with the Edge if you have a Level 10 bolt. It is bigger than the smallest sized back.

Level 10 problems...

Hey is it true about the level 10 bolt not fitting the smallest bore? Has anyone addressed this to J&J? Would I really need the smallest bore? I am very tempted by this kit.

madmatt, yes its true, the bolt has lik ea diamter of .685 or something, eitherway, it doesn't fit in the smallest back on the JJ, nor would it with any other multi back bore barrel kit.
