How to Measure Your Trigger Pull WEIGHT

    AO Testers,

Ok, we know know what the perception is for your e-triggers now its time to find out what they really are.

Here is the simple way for all of us to consistently measure the trigger pull in oz.

    1. get a piece of wire or string and loop it through the trigger guard and pierce it through a plastic bag like in the pic.

    2. Tie off the string or wire so it forms a nice loose loop through the trigger guard.

    3. Hold your marker so the barrel is pointing straight up and put the loop over the FIRST TRIGGER GROOVE!! Not the second, THE FIRST trigger groove as shown. For you guys with blade triggers place the loop in the same general area where the first loop would be.

    4. Add quarters to the baggie until the trigger clicks. Do this several times and gently lower the baggie full of quarters trying NOT to make the trigger move.

    5. Count your quarters! 5 = 1 oz.

    6. Report your findings here.

Lets be straight about this I need accurate data to make you cool stuff.

    Go get that data!!

      first time
      5 quarters

      second time
      4 quarters

      third time
      4 quarters

      fourth time
      5 quarters

      average
      4.5 quarters

edit: i just thought of something
-i have no trigger spring, so that means not many angels should be less than an ounce, since that was the weight that tripped the microswitch

      anyways just a thought

1 dime is still too heavy. Got change? I'm going to try paperclips tomorrow and convert grams.

My orignal guess was 1.5 ounces on my emag trigger. Actual pull wieght was about 2 ounces

My timmy trigger is about 2.5 oz right now. It can go much ligher but i find that this tension is fairly optimum for walking it quickly.

              Well...

My first guess on the original thread was 1-2oz... I was in the ballpark with: 10 Quarters Even on the Timmy63 trigger.

I plan to tackle my frame tommorow with some mini orings... see if I can lessen that to more my liking... heh.

Ok, I guessed that it was going to be 1 oz or less. OOPS.

                2k1 Dark angel

                7 quarters.

                Emag

Ask Jon. It is at the factory getting worked on. I am going to guess based on the angel, that it is at least 3.5 oz. probably more.

well, I didn't like my trigger insanely light, but I didn't think it was that heavy either.

                  Mine weighed in at:

                  6oz.

It was only a couple of ounces at the bottom though which is where most people pull when they want to show someone how soft the trigger is. Funny that misconception.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Cliff, wanna test that LED for me?

I dont have an electro at the moment, so I'm not gonna post. I'll have a micro emag to test with in a few days. (wishful thinking, should have been 3 weeks ago but PTP can't fix emags...)

I'll test out my ReTro Mag today and see what it's at. My guess is like a a quarter of a pound to maybe half a pound.
