i agree to a certain extant as far as paint to barrel match but honestly i can say, your not going to notice a huge difference between you shooting Evil paint with a .686 bore barrel and a .691 barrel. Consistancy is dependant on the gun and the paint, not the barrel you use. From my expirience, it's the paint you use that plays the most role in accuracy. some barrels are mroe accurate than others, that is because of the different tolerances from different companies, along with the material it is made out of, the control bore length, and the all important paint-to-bore match
true that different companies have different tolerances, but the major companies (CP,SP,DYE,Lapco,Armson,JT,32Deg.,JJ,etc) all have very high tolrance. Your not going to see a difference in accuracy from the different barrels using the same paint and maintaining under the same conditions. So to me, an aftermarket barrel is an aftermarket barrel, other than that, i dont care what brand it is as long as its a company that does well in making barrels which is most of them. Most barrels out there have a 6" control bore. Thats well over enough to keep the ball nice and straight.
i've had a stock piranha barrel shoot futher, more accurate, and quieter than some DYE barrels, that just shows you that tolerances are not the same among all of the barrel companies
ya well like i said, its more of the paint that makes the difference in accuracy rathr than the barrel.
btw, oversizing barrels helps you shoot floor paint easier... i know, i have a large-bore barrel and i can shoot any paint thats not soaking wet on the ground, hopper wipes off most of the crap and then it just goes through the barrel... i found 600 rounds on the ground last week and i shot that through my mag for 4 games without any breaks
my mag loves floor paint, but my impulse absolutely HATES it because it's a PERFECT paint-bore match (.691 freak to PMI premiums)
errmm... your shooting paint you found on the ground??? No wonder your all fussy about the barrel you use. Shouldn't your Mag break more paint that your Impulse if your using paint you find on the ground? Well i meen unless you have a level 10 kit in there, Impulses arn't has hard on paint as Mags are.
