I was sitting arould, and thought that if the lip of the mag bolt was smaller, as well as the grip part of the sear, then the trigger pull would be shorter. Am I right?!?
would it work?

To an extent you would be right, but it wont work. re-grinding the sear and Filing down the bolt lip is kinda old-school. Yes, it makes the pull very short. Problem is that you chew bolts and sears. Gets very costly very quick.

Well I wonder what Tom has up his sleeve with these trigger pull post lately?
I mean how could you really get a mech gun's pull like an electro? It takes more force to trip the sear on a mag than it does to trip a little dinky switch (or magnetic field).
Anyone want to speculate what tricks Tom is making for us?

smokee-not if you used very durable and light materials for both the sear and bolt. what makes the current sear and bolt combo so durable that it cant be done but with shorter stuff?!

Oh, my first post was based on modifying existing parts. Im sure that the system and components could be modified from the ground up to be faster and softer. Mechanical pulls can DEFINITLY be lighter than the pull of my retromags (even though I can shoot them insanely fast)

I think I know what Tom is doing... maybe hes gonna put magnets into the mechanical triggers to make them lighter/harder or what not... dunno, I might be way off, and it is 2:05 when i typed this lol... whooo, time to go to sleep...

lol. i havnt gotten much sleep this past week! AH!
ne ways. if you used like ss or something would it be strong enough? oh, how about titanium? is that expensive to make a sear/bolt out of?

Titanium does not have good wear properties. It is lighter than steel, heavier than aluminum, harder than aluminum but softer than steel. The hardened steel that is used to make the sear now is the best material. That is why it is used. The bolt is stainless to resist wear and take impact while not rusting.Originally posted by mag-hatter
