4.5k Flatlines..Should AO members be the first to purchase them?

I wanted to put this poll up to ask if AGD should offer the 4.5k Flatlines to AO members first as a way of being so-called "beta" testers before they go on sale to the General public...I would pay for a 4.5k flatline from AGD if i had the oppurtunity to really put it through it's paces to make sure the reg seat deformation problem is totally taken care of..

There's just something about "beta testing" and 4500 psi tanks that doesn't seem to go together.

I'm in the market for another tank, and would buy one if they become available in the next month or so. Otherwise, I'll be getting another brand.

I gave up for a while as I was needing a tank right now. So I bought a used Flatline 68/3000. I must say these are very very nice. So Russ I say please reconsider another brand. You would not be disapointed with the Flatline even in 3000 psi. But yes I would probably get a 4500 when they came out. Give this one to the kid. But I cannot say that AO members should be the only ones to get them first. Depends on how many they have in stock when they decide to go ahead and release them. But for the purpose of this poll I would vote YES. I'm greedy!

lol its funny how everyone posts things like they have control over what AGD does. Yes Tom and everyone at AGD cares about your OPINION, altho when you get down to it, its all up to AGD and the staff. They know what the hell they're talking about, and doing, as apposed to a bunch of 15yr olds who just wanna get some free stuff and act like they know the owner of some huge company and have 'hook-ups'.

Then again, its an old trick, make a person or group of persons FEEL that they're needed, and they'll love you for it. Its just like when my mom lets my little brother pour in the flour when 'they' make cookies

i'm not trying to flame..but if you even read the first post it says...should AO members be the first ones to PURCHASE 4.5K Flatlines...nowhere did it say free..or hook ups or anything of that nature..I'm 24 years old and i don't need free stuff..i will pay for quality..all i was asking is to whether or not AO'ers think that they should be given first crack at PURCHASING the new systems because we are the ones who said that AGD should make sure the reg seat deformation problem is totally fixed instead of the industry standard of just pushing things out the door and then waiting for everyone to call and say there stuff is screwed up and then fixing it....

Chaos, the point of this site is to A) Share info about mags, and B) Help Tom develop the best product. Tom asks for our opinions, and we try to help him out. Considering that Tom is having some problems with the regulator seats on the 4.5K flatlines, wouldn't it maybe be better to release them to people who will test them for him and let him know how its holding up in the field before wide release? That way, if the reg seats work great, he can ship the product. If not, he won't have a hundred angry customers, he'll have a few beta testers with legitimate data on the problems. He doesn't have to open up sales, but maybe sell of 20 or so to get some data in, that way if there are problems it shouldn't swamp the tech department to fix them.

If Tom reads this, I'm not pushing you to sell them on AO first. But if it helps you fix your problems, then go for it! AO is here to help :)

Personally I feel that I have to vote no on this poll. Sure it would be nice to be one of the first to buy an 4.5k flatline, but who are we to say that we should be the first. Can you honestly say that you are more deserving than anyone else out there? I doubt it, and if you can, you might be able to fool yourself about but you won't fool me.

Beta testing?? Come on, give your head a shake. Do you honestly think that Tom or anyone else is going to let a customer beta test a 4500 psi nitro tank? Anyone seen what happens when the pin valve in a co2 bottle goes? Now imagine what would happen if the reg blew on a 4500 psi nitro tank. I wouldn't even want to be in the same building. I don't think that Tom will be letting anyone outside of AGD beta test these regs.

Who do I think should get first crack at them. Simple, put them on the open market straight away. Hey I'm all for us getting first dibs on little stuff like nubbins, and maybe even the superbolt, but the Tank? No that should be opened up to everyone.

Ask yourself honestly, what makes you so special that you deserve the chance to buy it before anyone else.

This is just my opinion, so if you're going to flame me. Don't waste your band width.

Temo - That is basically what I was saying, why should we get 'hookups'? Why not let AGD get it right, make sure it works, then ship it out for all to buy. Think about the big picture. If infact the problem wasn't solved, people on the field will see. I dont know about you guys, but AGD has a horrible name here in Cali. Say I bought a 'beta flatline', and I was out on the field, and the reg seat blew. People on the field would see that, and the AGD name would be tarnished even more. "Did you guys see that POS 4500 flatline, the thing blew up on a guy that had one at the field, another piece of AGD crap", thats what would be going around on the field, which would then hit the online forums. Now think, how are you special enough to get to be a tester, and is it really worth it?
