I ahve been looking and searching and can;t find this info anywhere, so I'll ask. What are the procedures for doing bounce tests on paint, and for sizing it up to a bore. Also, what brand paint do you guys use and like. Thanks.

marbs + lapco = *orgasm*
As for doing a drop test, I guess you can just drop a single paintball from different heights, see how high you hafta get before it breaks.
For the bore sizes, there are many a website devoted to that very topic, listing exact bore sizes of both barrels and paint, as well as suggestions for what paint to use in what barrels:
Barrel sizes
Stock barrel sizes
Paintball sizes
A possible help for matching good paint with your barrel
Hope some of this helps.

actually, drop tests is dropping a paint from a certain height any number of times before it breaks.

Paintball Talk is the main forum for Automags.org. Here is where we talk about the sport of paintball in general and make announcements relating to the forum and website.
"It is actually a tried and true process called a Bounce Test. We have used it for ten years to determine what type of paint we have and how it will work in the guns. In order for this test to have significance you must do the same thing every time and don't cut it short. Start with 10 paintballs, take one paintball and drop it from about 6 feet and let it hit a hard concrete surface. Catch it on the first bounce, do not let it bounce twice in one drop. Now with the same paintball drop it again from six feet, catch it and repeat until it breaks. Mark down how many bounces it took to break that paintball and then repeat with the other 9 balls. Throw out the high and the low numbers and average the other 8. This gives you the "bounce number" for the paint. Simple but effective. Make sure you use a hard surface not a wood floor etc."Comment

Evil is just that.. EVIL. I'm telling you.. you starts shooting that paint and you'll never wanna leave it. EVER. I still wish we had the hookup on it. Now I've shot anarchy which seems to be really decent paint. Very thick bright orange fill.. reminds me of Hellfire, it averaged .5 bounces out of 10 dropped. But I have to agree with Dayspring, Evil paint.. is.. awesome!Comment

Buy it?
Where do you guys buy your paint, other than the fields of course. THe reason I am asking is I am going to start practicing at some indoor fields which allow youto bring your own paint. I woudl like to know as much about the aint as I can. I am assuming the internet is not the best place to buy fresh paint, but let me know, maybe I am wrong. Thanks for all of your input.Comment

I've never had a problem with freshness of paint after ordering it online. Then again, I think I've done it a grand total of...once...

If you play woods ball, dark colored paintballs are much harder to see coming so people are less likely to jump out of the way when you are taking that long shot at them. For woods play try:
Big Ball - Dark brownish / gold shell
Cobra Paintball Cobra Eggs - black shells, small diameter like marbs.
Great American - Black shells (paintballgear.com)A good friend is one that will come and bail you out of jail.
A great friend is one that is sitting next to you in jail saying "Man that was F#%*ing Awesome"!
