AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Do you cock the back block then put air, or the otherway around, or not at all, or does it not matter? If you have to cock it first, why? What does it do for the gun
I think it would depend on who you ask. If you cocked it manually first it would just load a ball in the chamber and then fire when you pulled the trigger. If you didn't it would just recock the first time, loading the ball, and then not shoot until you pulled the trigger again.
I cock then gas. I dunno why, I think when it is not cocked, the hammer rests on the valve, therefore keeping it open, therefore allowing air out. When you cock the gun, don't forget to let go when you screw in the tank. The first few times I did it, I snapped my finger between the back black and the body. Needless to say, I was dropped as a baby.
well, you don't have to cock the whole back block, just gas it up, then pull just the cocking lever in the back. your first shot will be dry, but then you're all set.
Cock it first then air it up. It wont do any damage or anything if you don't but you can leak air. When it is not cocked the hammer sits up against the valve stem and leaving it open just a bit. When you go to gas it air will leak around the cup seal. Cocking it first will make sure the valve stem is against the valve body and sealed, and you will get no leak when gasing. You can just pull back on the cocking rod, no need to pull the whole back block.
