Two players from the Clemson Paintball team and Three from the University of Illinois played Rookie 5man as NCPA.
We posted a 369 for the event, with scores of: 16+6+28+8+24+94+98+95
Steve Smith and Robert Long (Me) were there from Clemson.
Illinois provided three excellent players, Dan Berowski, Andy Bober, and John (last name?).
Molly Lynch came down and photographed and kept the schedule. Since we got rained out on Friday and the schedule got hosed, we did all our games on Saturday.
Without Molly it would have been an absolute mess.
These guys were great to be on the field with. It takes me a while to feel comfortable w/ other players on the field, but after the first 3 games it was like I had been playing w/ them for a long time.
Thanks to Chris Raehl for all the work on getting us to these events, Lane Wright from PSP, and to the U of I players.
It was a blast. With all the randomness, including a certain person who couldn't seem to put down their new grip frame (there is a picture of that poor SOB asleep with it), the incessent moaning of one guy in his sleep, and the 2 of us that snored, well, it was great.
Steve got to swim in the mud all day in the snakes. I wound up in the mud 3 times, but only temporarily. He played in the mud all day and spanked the other snake guys.
Andy played left wing for us and kept the left tape in check all day.
John started in the back all day then took up position mid right to cover Steve in the snake.
Dan played the 50. Well, that is pretty much it, he would get up in their face and stay there. He's a relentless guy.
I suck. I stayed in the back. I shot a lot of paint, I know of at least 2 guys that got shot simultaneously by Dan and myself when they "attempted" to get their grubby paws on the flag.
Then there was a guy who tried to run down on Steve in the snake, well, he got shot by me, by Steve, and at least one other player. He fell out of bounds, over a banner, and well, got lit up :-)
The sportsmanship was good. The teams we played were great guys.
The event was great. Even with the weather the vendors kept us busy and they moved player staging area inside so we had a dry place to store our gear.
TheAngelGuy.com had a huge booth where he was teching over angels the whole time.
There is so much more, but I'm going to wrap up for now. I'll post any pics I can get my hands on.
Thanks again for all involved.
BTW - My mag was being teched, I got it in too late for work so it didn't make it to MGO. My primary went down and I shot a race merlin. That is an Autococker w/ an Electronic frame. Great gun. Wish my mag had been there, but that wasn't anyones fault at all.
Cphilip has it and he worked 2 nights on the gun. I appreciate the help Phil, I should have had that to you the week before man.
