rental mags ..do they have removable barrels?

I know this might be a dumb question but alot of feild rental guns have barrels that cannot be removed ,I just bought one on ebay and this thought just occured to me . Is the barrel on these guns removable , I know about the velocity limitations of 280 , and thats fine the limit where I play is 280

I think I found my anwser -all mags except for high end and cocker threaded bodies have twist lock further confirmation would be appreciated though

yes, their barrels are removable. i dont think there ever was a specific mag made for rental purposes. maybe a package sold from AGD with a tank and such, but a different mag....dont think so.

least the mags rented at a field in TN i played at(Bob McGuire's) rented regular mags with HPA

Velocity limitations of 280? Maybe at that field, but mags don't have a velocity limitation of 280.

Fields that rent markers SET their velocity at their limits, they are not made that way.

Call AGD and tell them about this. There was something they did to field rental guns that caused them to be limited to 280fps. AGD will be able to fix this for you.

        Whats all this then?

Field mags come with a twist lock assembally, except it is totally locked up. You cant remove the barrel without taking the body off the rail. You can, however, buy a new twist lock assembally and punch out the old one for your new one. As for the velocity thing, I think its a system where the reg piston vents over 280 fps.. I think thats replacable too..

There is a rental mag. It has a fixed barrel that will not remove and it is limited in its veliocity. The valve has no stars and is marked rental...

Doesn't nessicarily mean its not been converted. Or cannot be. Seen those rental valves in almost anything from time to time as well.

The reason they made those was so field owners would not have to worry about people taking the barrels off and losing them and people shooting too hot. Both things are reversable with little effort or money. However a Rental valve itself has no stars.

You can still order them by the way. Its just they are not realy any cheaper than a regular mag so people mostly do not. Other than field owners. They make great field markers because they do not take much maintenance and hold up well. But most fields opt for the cheap out and get the spyder clones. They end up replacing them every year or so. I know some of them field Mags been out in the field for 5-6 years or more with nothing but some orings put in em. Some even more.

140 a good deal considering I dont have the time to play to warrant dumping alot of money into the game at this point . Its supposedly never fired /used the pic of it was still in its original box . The guy had a lot of 15 of them on ebay . I guess his store was closing up and he had to get rid of them ,I think he said he only sold 5 , so he has 10 left if anyone is inrested his email is [email protected]

Sam, im assuming with the affixed barrel, and at the specific presure, the marker can fire 280 as its highest, since it does not have to worry about raising velocity to compensate for porting etc

Ya but the size of paint matters too. I guess they also assumed that fields will use field grade paint, which is generally on the large side of the spectrum and won't roll through. I notice a bigger difference in velocity between a good fit and a ball that rolls through the barrel, than a good fit and a ball that is kinda snug.

They probably just aproximate. Hey, maybe they just toss in the old Reg piston assemblies that get sent in for venting too early :)
