    The x-board is a 12v board. The only difference now between yours and a regular 12v with x-board is the paddle (9v and 12v use the same motor).

      A 9volt only has two paddles and 12 volt has 4 paddles.

          earlier 9v did have a two pronged paddle, and the 12s came with the four, I used to have one of the twoers.
