E-mag upgrade on Automag or Minimag

I'm in deep thought here. I have a Mag and a Minimag and just read today about the upgrade. Here's a question, does the upgrade include a new barrel or will any aftermarket Mag barrel work? My goal today in looking at the forum was to find info about the Intelliframe but this conversion looks like a good deal. If I convert, what will be the difference between my conversion and a regular E-mag I would go out and purchase? Since I'm already asking questions, what's the consensus opinion on the freak barrels, worth the $?

Any mag aftermarket barrel will work UNLESS you get a centerfeed body. Then you have to get a new barrel.

I don't know what the difference between an emag and a conversion but read the whole thread. I think someone asked that.

As for the Freak, I personally don't think they are worth the money unless you play with a lot of different paint. You only use two or three of the insert IME. However,it is the most accurate barrel I have used because of the paint\bore match.
