    SPEEDLINE

I also own a speedline and a scepter. They work great! Both of them. I use the speedline for my automag and the scepter for my xmag. The accuracy on both is outstanding. I use a .688 Speedline Barrel. Powerlyte is a great company and have excellent customer service. In comparison to a dye boomstick, I would go Speedline.

Does the sceptre stand up against, say, the freak or longbow?

I had a freak and it got stolen, in comparison the the scepter:
                Freak Scepter
                heavy | much lighter
                8 inserts | less inserts (5)
                looks so/so | looks awsome!
Scepter has more durable inserts also
                just my $.02

I'm getting an Evil PIPE though, interchangable intead of a inserts system.

the scepter may be light, but by no means would i describe the freak as heavy. the main difference, i think, between the two are the locking inserts of the scpeter as opposed to the freak inserts, which have more to go wrong in terms of alignment problems.
