    Cutting a drop forward.

I was walking my dog one day and I saw cars running over something hazzardous in the street. So I went out to pick it up. It was a heavy .25 inch aluminum plate. Weighs a couple of pounds.

SO I thought I would cut a drop forward for my gun to balance it out.

How long should I make it. Ive cut it about 2 inchs so far on both sides with a 32 TPI blade. I have to stop alot and put water on the plate. The aluminum turns to like a paste and gums everything up.

I wonder how hard it will be to drill?

I thought the end. I would take and cut about 3 pieces the same size and bolt them together or I could cut 2 smaller pieces and stagger them like louvers?Should I try in and bend it in a vice?

I'd bend it if you can. It just looks better, IMO.

You need to put a bend in the drop. This way it will clear any Reg, or fore grip you have. Also, if there is no bend, the Tank may not clear when you try to screw/slide it on. Plus...Its a "drop" forward, No bend = ____forward.

Okay thanks. I bent a scrap piece on the end. I was able to bend it about 70 degrees. (didnt Break) I think I can bend it in a vice.

Im not sure how much extra to add for the bend.

          Maybe an Inch?
So Far I cut 6 inchs. I think its going to be a 5 inch drop.
