    Great day at Jungle Island

Just wanted to bask in the afterglow of a great day of 'ballin! I went to Jungle Island in Southern CA toaday with a friend (mag shooter, too).
Great day, nice weather, great fields/refs/etc. I only broke two balls, towards the end of the day, paint had been in the car all day, I think that's why. (it was a little muggy, too)
Anyway, If you ever get a chance to play in So Cal, you've gotta go to Jungle Island. SC is "world famous" but Jungle Island is THE best field I've ever played at.

I looked it up, looks like about 1 1/2 hours north of San Diego. It is in Lake Elsinore/south corona, right off I-15. We should try to get an AO group to go there on the 16th or 17th of this month.

5-6 hour drive sounds about right, I will be there in yuma on vacation and it appears that any field I go to is going to be anywhere from 3-6 hours to get to, unless there is something closer...enlighten me if anyone knows something close to Yuma.

If I remember correctly, Jungle Island used to be the pumkin patch about 4 or 5 years ago. If so, then I have played there but not recently. Sure, I would come out and play. Let me know which day.

Mapquest says it's about 4.5 hours... If you are going to take a drive that long, you should consider playing Jungle Island and SC Village. Jungle for the quality of play, SC Village because it's world famous. They are both within about 1/2 hour of each other. I don't think I'll be up for another round by that weekend. Let me know if you guys are meeting up, though, I might try to make it.

Jungle is fine if you're still into recball, but SC's hyperball fields are unparalleled in So Cal.

The only thing Jungle has going for it is the free air fills but it's outweighed by the fact that no decet competition will ever show their face there when they could be playing on the hyperfields at SC with 20 other teams.

I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion. I have friends who won't set foot on SC Village ever again because of the superiority complex that old fart seems to have.
In regards to competition, it's true there aren't a lot of teams that play at Jungle. However, there were quite a few skilled players last weekend. In fact, we played some of the most challenging games I've ever experienced due to the competitive nature of the more experienced players.
                            To each his own.
