Gen X-2 or Torpedo.....for all those who use inlines, plz help

I just bought a Classic Timmy, and it came with a Gen X-2 inline reg. It matches the gun nicely, and is somewhat comfortable, but I have a Torpedo reg that I had from my cocker.

I don't know if I should keep the Torpedo (its served me well) and sell the ANS or keep the ANS (never used it, so don't know if it is good, but looks purty) and sell the Torpedo. The only thing that really sucks about the Torpedo is that it is black, and my timmy is blue and chrome. Anyway, thanks in advance.

genx is a decent reg, and I have no experience with torpedo. I prefer sidewinder and gladiator, but genx is usable. I would match the gun and keep the genx and try it, You can always switch back later...

id go with gen x over torpedo, but id go with sidewinder over both of those. ive done some reg research, and found that the sidewinder is probaly one of the best nitro regs on the market, it has a 70:1 (for every 70 psi the tank changes, the reg changes 1psi) output ratio, while alot of regs on the market today (maxflo ect) have a 35:1.

are you kidding me? Comparing an ANS reg to a Torpedo? Torpedo regs are one of the best regs i have ever used. Defently get the Torpedo... also where are you buying it? I want one too.

My son shoots a GenX-2 'cocker. The GenX reg has worked flawlessly, The gun is very consistent. I would have no reservations using the GenX reg...

            @ FeelTheRT,

Read the post again...he has BOTH regs

Looks like a split decision up til know.

Is there any place where they have tested both regs?

If you think the genX is uncomfortable because of the guage you can set the gun around where it needs to be velocity wise, take off the guage, and toss on a plug. If you don't like the hose position, not much you can do.

Both regs are fine. Not out of this world awesome, but by no means sub standard, and they'll both run your timmy fine. Just put each of em on, head to the chrono, and test em side by side. Of course if theres gunk in the reg or something that would hurt it, but see which is more consistant. You could probably sell them both for the same amount (50ish bucks)
