one last question, I'm pretty sure I can but i'll ask anyway:

I have a HL minimag, which means I have a reverse valve, I should have no problem turning the gas-thru grip about do that the air output is on the same side as my valves input?

if youre talking about the gas-thru that i just bought, im pretty sure you should have no problem, but if you want to make absolutely sure, ill post when i get it and tell you.
