    Camping on the re-insertion point?

I know you seasoned scenario players have seen this. You get put back in the game , take 3 steps onto the field and WHAMMO ! you get nailed by a group of people from the opposing team who have staked you out.

Now I realize there has to be some point at which you have come "into the game".You can't be under a protective shroud for some inordinate period of time as you reinsert either, but the question is where do you draw the line?

I ask this as being involved in reffing , and playing in scenarios various places, this has become problematic as best. There must be a safety zone in which you can blend back into the game w/o being the target of some group of guys camping 10 feet off the reinsertion point.

How can you protect the incoming players w/o weighing the scale too much towards protecting them?

tell incoming players where the guys are sitting waiting for them and have them take them out, its better than adjusting rules or anything...

What about having a predetermined distance from the re-insert that new inserted players are not to be engaged nor are they to engage opponents? The only shooting they can do is in defense of themselves.

At a recent sceanrio I noticeds this problem, and all we did was keep our guns in the air until we arrived at a bunker we could safley get behind. Soon enough we had gotten all of the campers out and just continued play as normal. But i can see how this would not work if the insertion point was some distances away from decent coverage.

I recently went to my first scenario, and what happened when you get out was that you sit there till you get out every 15 minute intervals so, if you get to the "hospital" at 2:14, you would get out at 2:15. anyways, when we all got out, we were still dead till we touched our main base bunker. and then there were plenty of places for cover from there...

            First,
            WELCOME TO AO!!!

The scenarios we have hosted, the people had to insert to their own base. Once you were at the base you were considered a live player. They could not fire on you inserting to the base even if there was a live firefight. They were instructed to shoot around inserting players.

It's all in the rules of the scenario. Before the next one, change that rule. The inserting players cannot be fired on, nor return fire till they touch, or are at their own main base. Problem solved.

I've never been to a scenario game, but if you have a couple hundred people playing....shouldn't your base be gaurded at all times?

if the opposing team(s) make it to your insertion area, they should be awarded some points and told to head back to their base or something.

This gennerally shouldn't be too big of a problem. There is normally a reinsertion window in a scenario game meaning you have 10 minutes to reinsert. Depending on the scenario there are hot and cold insertions. If the base is close to insertion you normally do a cold insert meaning you are not alive until you reach your base. A hot insert means you a alive as soon as you are on the field. In the case of camping out at the insertion point you simply have a live or hot insert. This means that the players are all live at once on insertion and as soon as they are hit they step off then onto the field again and repeat as needed for 10 minutes on until the campers decide they have had enough.

This is really only an issue if very few people are inserting and then they better call up the rest of the team and get back in the game.

                    I hope this helps.

I played at waynes world and during the night we took the opposing teams base and held it for a couple of hours. The insertion point was across a small open area, next to a speedball field. We had no shot on the insertion point and we shot at the insertees once the got to the speedball field.

Make a lot of cover (bunkers) near the insertion point and paint the bunkers the color of that teams arm bands. The opposing team is not allowed in bunkers of the other teams color near the insertion point. That way they can take as much of the field as they can and still give the inserting players a chance to win it back.

Yes definately some good thoughts. All except the "fire on them until the campers get tired" thing. What was that? It really sucks for a guy to pay a great deal of money to be waiting in the "time out" box all day.
I like the idea of the colored bunkers for each teams re-insertion point. One of the biggest problems I had encountered was reinserting to my base being raped. There were a few members of the other team camped right in my staging point.Needless to say a few bad decisions were made within the next few seconds and some people , myself included , got their feelings hurt.A few apologies all around and all was cool , but really a situation that should never have happened in the first place.

If you set a boundry, they will camp outside the boundry. Its pointless. The best thing to do, is do what Demobilized said in my oppinion, but then again, I have NO scenario experiance.

na what u do is have a small group of judges, dressed up that r invinsible when the respawn happens they go in first like infront of the respawners and clear nme oposition out of the way... it works for boht teams liek that

well...there should be a bit of a safe zone for the inserting players, as long as they can get to some cover from the hot insertion, it is fair game. playing scenerios at emr, the refs will actually push you back to a certain boundry in order to give the insertees a chance to get to some of this cover.
