    Problem with the new nubbins

I got my nubbins and sticker today...

Well it looks like they may not work with centerfeed barrels since they use 2 nubbins. With both nubbins and the o-rings on the barrel the whole mess was too thick to fit into the body. I tried it on both my freak and stock barrel and neither one worked. Tomorrow I'll try it with just one nubbin and see if I have any problems with feeding.

Yea, if they don't work, I'll be handing them out next time I'm at NAP for folks to have. I won't be there this weekend anyway.

Shave down the bottom nub on the nubbins until it fits. I believe there was a problem with the mold and the nubs are too tall which causes problems with them not being able to flex enough or fit in the mainbody.

These looked like someone already went at them with sandpaper. But I shaved them down a little more. It still did'nt help. The problem is the amount of material from two nubbins causes the o-rings to stick out more than the material from two peices of wire. When I stuck the barrel in it actually ripped the o-ring right off the barrel.

            Thanks for the advice....

Humm, try oiling the orings first. They do stick out a little farther but most of the time we don't have a problem.

Mine stuck a little bit at first, but a good oiling and a couple times of putting the barrel in and removing it and they seem to be fine. My only complaint is that on my 14in J&J Ceramic, quite frequently when I take the barrel off I discover that the front o-ring (farthest from the bolt) will actually be under the nubbin. It seems that either that particular nubbin is just a bit too short, or the barrels grooves are spaces just a bit too far apart. If anyone knows exactly how these nubbins look, (Hint Hint Tom Kaye.) the tip of the nubbin just barely reaches the o-ring. I can post some pictures if anyone wants to see exactly what I'm talking about.

Beat you to it. I found some smaller thinner tighter barrel o-rings and made it work. Now I'v run into Potatoboy's problem. Here's a pic of the problem. You can see the end of the nubbin falls a little short causing it to pop out from under the o-ring.

Actually Load, I was referring to this problem. But they sure seem similar. I'm wondering if this is a flaw in the first run that had to be modified and it's all straightened out, or if we've found a new problem AGD has missed.

Yea, we are talking about the same thing. I just moved the o-ring to show how short it was.
